I have no problem transferring memorials. However, if they are a part of my family, I will follow Find A Grave guidelines. Although I disagree with how stingy some people are, I also understand that a lot of time is put into creating memorials. My biggest pet peeves here are those who create duplicates without checking first, those who create memorials for living people so they have "first shot" at the memorial when the person does pass away, "Number Chasers" are the worst, and those that refuse to update memorials when someone sends them updates through the edit button. The whole point of this site is to create memorials for those that have passed away. MANY genealogists use this site to trace their trees. Why is it so hard to update when the chance is presented to you?

I am a proud member & volunteer for the Illinois Ancestor Tombstone Project, focusing on the counties of Knox, Fulton, Henry, Mercer & Warren. You can find this amazing project here: Illinois Ancestors Tombstone Project

RE: James L. Burkhalter, Co. F, 86th Illinois
Thanks Angelic and Thanks again for all you have done for me and for Find A Grave! I am doing well and continuing my search for the graves and information about the men of the 86th, 77th and 47th Illinois from Peoria County. I hope our paths cross someday. Sincerely, Baxter

James L. Burkhalter, Co. F, 86th Illinois
Dear Angelic, It's been quite some time since I last heard from you. I hope this little note finds you well. We finally found where James L. Burkhalter was buried and his grave is marked and has now been photographed. When you get the chance, could you delete the picture of the spot where you believed he was buried? James is buried in the Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg. Thanks and I do hope this finds you well. Thanks for all you have done for me and for Find A Grave. Sincerely, Baxter

Thank you very much for connecting Mattie to her mother and siblings. Wish I knew where her father Barney died and was buried! He couldn't read or write, so that may account for at least some of the surnames' varied spellings.

Harris Cemetery, Galesburg
I apparently got that information from a book in some library. I notice I have deleted it from my notes. There is a Harris Cemetery in McDonough County which has a small child, Matthew Wayne Reneau, son of Norman and Barbara.

Sorry for the mixup.
