I am now retired and able to devote more time to my |
hobby, genealogy.Along with Three cousins, we are the family historians.Surnames include,Hess,Ferry,Sreca,
Lives are commemorated, deaths are recorded, families are reunited,
Memories are made tangible, and love is undisguised; This is a cemetery.
Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence,
Historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are cast in bronze
To pay warm tribute to accomplishments and life, not the death of a loved one,
The cemetery is homeland for memorials
that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of people
A perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today.
A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always.

The Love of Cemeteries and Genealogy
"You see death and sadness in these sunken patches of dirt, I see lives lived fully and the good deeds of past generations influencing the future ones."
"To rescue from oblivion the history of a large and honorable family is a praiseworthy achievement. Somebody must begin the work. It is to be hoped that someone will complete it."
Joseph Woodruff Bozeman, 1885
"A Genealogist must have the patience of Job; the curiosity of a cat; the stubbornness of a mule; the eyesight of an eagle; be blessed with the luck of the Irish and have the ability and stamina of a camel to go long hours without food or drink."

That IS funny! Well, I had her as married and having children. I have not worked on 'that' side of my family in quite some time; but lately, am going back and re-checking everything before I get ready to print it all out for family members. I came across Viola, and didn't remember much because my notes, of course, are put away! So thanks!
I'm going out of town so will be in touch when I return in a week.

|Karla Kelley-Cardell||Thomas & Maude Jones|
Thank you so much, Darlene, for taking and uploading the headstone pictures of Thomas, Maude, and Harley Jones and Ted Weatherford, and Sylvia and Lois Simmons. I must tell you that I had a chuckle when I got the notification email saying you had uploaded the photos. You see, I had JUST gotten back from the library after copying the Jones' Memorial pages. Though their headstone pictures weren't on their page, someone had placed a photo and I wanted their page for my records. So you and I were on the same page, so to speak, at the same time. Me copying their page and you uploading their gravestone. I thought it was neat. Thank you again for the legwork!
