I did do the research on that line, so can not vouch for its accuracy. John's parents may be Edward and Sarah.

Thanks for the information. I changed his name to John. That line was a little confusing. Now it makes sense. I did not know he had a twin. Is there anyway to connect the two brothers. I can not find information on their parents (Eli and Freelove) gravesite. Not sure where they are buried.

You're very welcome. Believe it or not, being only 30 miles from Bedford and my Father's family being from Bedford/Fulton County since the 1770's, this is the first time I've ever been to this cemetery.

I had some time on my hands and saw there were a large number of outstanding requests there going back to 2011 so I figured I'd take a trip down over the mountain. I have a few more to upload-I'm not sure if any are yours or not, but I hope to have them posted in the next few days at the latest.

It's possible that Susan's inscription is on one of the other three sides of Michael's stone. The next time I'm in Newry I could check it out, but that may not be for quite a while.

Big Spring Pres. Graveyard photo request
Hello Mary! I am hoping that you could find the tombstone of William Richey, Find A Grave Memorial #51033340, which you have already photographed. Please look and see if perhaps his wife, Ann McCormick Richey is buried next to him, or below or near him.
Ann McCormick Richey b. 23 Jun 1768
d. 24 Dec 1846
And please identify the location of his grave.

Thanking you in advance,
Cynthia Russell

Thank you so very much. The names on the headstones actually come from two different and I thought unrelated lines so it was a big surprise. You have made my day!

Charles McDowell
11555210 Find a grave memorial
for Charles McDowell the printer of the Bedford Gazette.
Looking for more information about his birth place.
Our family records have Dublin as his birth place, but on the find a grave memorial his birth was Belfast Ireland.
Belfast would make more sense than Dublin. I would like to know more about the information which was used for his memorial.

Hello,

Found a Catherine Laird's headstone so may be wrong in my previous message. So many Lairds and I am a bit confused as not much information back so long ago.

I am currently researching the Lairds and interestingly enough all the names on the headstone above.

That headstone is very interesting to me but am having trouble with my old eyes making out more than the names on the headstone.

I would greatly appreciate it if there is any way you can tell me exactly what is written on that headstone.

Thank you very much.

Karen

Picture of Laird family
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=14828015&PIpi=99240021

Hi,

You took the picture at the link above. There are 5 members of the Laird family mentioned in the History of the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, Newville, Pa., 1737-1898. These names match the names of those on page 189 of this book with the one exception of Catherine.

While this may not be her I cannot make out who otherwise it might be and I have tried enlarging the photo and using various filters to no effect. Not that your photo is bad, it's just a very worn and weathered headstone.

Not that this clears up the mystery but perhaps a clue. I am currently researching the Laird family, specifically James but there are many James Lairds in the Cumberland area and still cannot pinpoint my exact one.

Thank you for your hard work.

Charles McDowell
Hi,
My name is Gwendolyn Terese Bruce, my maiden name is McDowell. My father is related to Charles. Can you please give me some more information about Charles. How do you know his Dad's name was William? and we thought he was born in Dublin. I hope this will lead me on to more information. Please return my email!
Thanks
