Bio and Links
Bio Photo NAMES AND DATES on stones take precident over any other source. I do try to add a note with any conflicting info. and a persons full give name if different than what is on their stone. For those using death certificates for creating memorials please remember they contain ERRORS and FAG does not recommend using them to create memorials! I have come across many errors including misspelled names, the deceased persons name left blank, the deceased persons wife listed as their mother, incorrect birthdates and many other errors on death certificates for my own family members so be careful when using them as your only source of info. I have also found mistakes in obits and census records as well as on cemetery stones!

MY PHOTO PROJECT: I am working on photographing all of the stones in the La Plata cemetery located in La Plata, Macon County, Missouri. Please do not add grave stone photos to the memorials that I have created in this cemetery as I would prefer to take them myself. Some photos, that I have already taken, may even be retaken as time & the weather permits.

FREEDOM TO USE DATA SENT ME: As of July 7, 2014. If you send me info., links, obits, etc. please note that you are giving me PERMISSION to use it to create memorials or to add it to a memorial. I hope this will prevent any confusion when it comes to info. being shared on this site. If you would like credit for anything you have sent me or plan to send just ask and I will add a note to the bio. area. I guess I should have been doing this from the beginning but I just didn't think it was necessary!

I will continue to do edits for those who are willing to work with others. Please continue to send them using the edit tab in the upper right hand corner of the memorial. BIO.-I would prefer to do family links (send me names and their mem. numbers) instead of adding a persons "full ancestral tree" to the bio. area. Do not send me personal messages using the edit tab as that is "Not" what it is for! Do "NOT" add bio. info. with a flower. Also I would prefer that death certificates and obits. not be added as a photo. Thanks to all the great fellow contributors who have sent info./links to me to be added to memorials. Most of you are now listed as my friends.

For those taking photos please check out this site: How To Get Great Photos For FindAGrave. Thanks Ron West for this link. I hope it helps others take much better photos than a lot of those I have come across on FAG. Also please try not to take photos with your reflection in the stone, cars or people in the background and hopefully with green grass around the stone. No photos taken after dark or with snow completely covering the ground. I prefer seeing the whole stone not just a closeup of it. Do not take photos of an upright stone looking down on it. This distorts the engravings and makes the stone look like it is falling over. Always try to take photos at a right angle to the face of the stone. This may mean bending over or getting down on one knee to take a photo. Also removing dead grass and bird droppings would be really nice and please no shadows of yourself or your body parts across the face of the stone. Remove flowers to get a clear photo of the names & the dates and then always replace the flowers!

RE: Please remove death certificate.
Done. Thanks for publishing the pertinent information from the certificate of death to his memorial. This will make future generations of genealogists research that much easier.

Memorial #50219302
Hi, at first my deepest thanks for the great job you are doing on here and behind the scenes.
There is a mistake in the mentioned memorial, though. Sadie Faye Lene's husband was not Harry Dean Magers, but his older brother Raymond E. Magers. They got married on June, 5 1947 in La Plata, Macon, Missouri. Raymond's memorial is already online (#101507227). He got buried with his second wife Cleo Evelyn.
His brother Harry Dean Magers married Doris Jean Romjue on September, 1 1949, also in La Plata.

James and Mary Myers
Thank you for trying to find the graves of my ancestors. They should be buried in Chariton Grove but I guess as Bob stated on their memorials they have no stone. I was hoping he was mistaken. Thank you for your efforts.

Chartion Grove Cemetery
I have re-checked the death information on James B. Myers and his wife Mary F. Myers and according to Missouri death certifcates and family members both are buried in Chariton Grove Cemetery. I have added information to show that there may not be a grave marker.

Hope this will make it easer for those who are takeing pictures.

Sorry I must have read the memorial naming convention wrong, I need to go back and re-read it. Sorry did not want to offend, Find A Grave is a wonderful site and helps so many people find their families, with Find A Grave members help...keep up the good work.

Not sure why you declined to approve his real name, of Delbert Martin Boydston for his Memorial page, which included his nickname of Bertie, that is usually the way it has been done, I have approved many names myself. This is his name from family, I didn't get it from his death certificate. His grandson just died Tuesday and I have been trying to link the family and just wanted to make it easy to find..
Sorry don't mean to offend, just wondered...
Happy grave digging and Happy holidays!

Thanks for the info! It has been added. I completely forgot to add that line on recent additions to the La Plata Cemetery.
