THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hallowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Thank you so much for all the great information on the memorials for the Haralson family members. The photos are wonderful! I so appreciate all your efforts. The children you listed not linked:Albert 11/18/1882-7/9/1941; married Odelia Hartman on 3/2/1909 has an error. My relative Albert Haralson married Clara Amelia Vosburg 12/20/1905. I am still searching for his grave. I think it will be some where in WA or ND.
With Deepest Appreciation,

Thanks for allowing his and my great aunt's B&D dates. But you added his inlaws as his parents and siblings, they belong added to his wife Mary Carroll Daley. If you need help with Michael's family i will be glad to help. Thanks, Michael Carroll.

Hello Ms Stephenson,
Thank you for reaching out. I enjoy hearing from relatives, especially potential relatives.
Myrtle Olson is my great aunt. She is the sister of my grandmother, Helen Olson. They are half of the four children born to Torvald and Christina Olson.
PS-You may enjoy checking Christine's bio on her memorial, I added a little something for you.

You are very welcome.
I was able to find all 8 of them but right now Find A Grave is having a hard time downloading the pictures. This happens from time to time.
It's getting a bit frustrating so I'll wait until tonight to download the others.
I hope you enjoy all of the pictures. I know on some it's hard to see the names on the headstones. One thing I've learned in my Find A Grave travels is, try as I may, the sun always wins.
I checked, zooming in helps.
Thanks for the request and again I'll finish up tonight.

You are very welcome! It's so fun doing it...feel like a private investigators! Took three trips out there to get to the pictures I took...but cemetery right on edge of town. Luckily I'm friends with the monument company owner that has the book. I think they had as much fun as I did!!
