We have been researching our many families off and on since our youth. For us the reseach is an adventure that has allowed us to explore history all the while putting together the puzzles of life gone before us. Families of interest are: Felten/Felton,Powell,Blough/Blauch,Chadwick, Louther/Luther,Menoher,Falloon/Faloon,Trusheim, Bonheimer,Wingard,Nichols,Hast,Thomas,Stayer, Mchaffie,St.Clair,Laughlin,Mackall,McGregor, Moorhead,Heilman,Fiscus,McClure,McCullough, Dawson,Cornell,Conkle,Glenn, and Bossinger.
Old German Cemetery Hi Rob and Debi...you always say you remember me from searches you did at WPGS: KESTNER et al. I'm a little bit closer to finding my Martha Wettlaufer Kestner Bowers because her daughters: Caroline and Catherine married CONEBY and HAUGHT husbands, well documented in Washington County. From that research, I think I've found the girls' father, John Bowers, buried in Old German Cemetery, Penn Hills. Problem is that the fellow who entered many graves there has died and now there's an outstanding list of requested photos. I put the question out there on the Forum but so far no takers. Tell me, do you know about this Cemetery? Are there any records at WPGS regarding burials? From the few photos I've seen, the stones are in poor condition and transcription would have been difficult for a long time now. Of course, you see what I'm after -- if John Bowers, b. 22 Aug 1836 - d. 08 Dec 1888, is there, b. "German Lutheran" on 10 Dec 1888, surely Martha is there too as death record says he was "married". Please tell me what You recommend: should I wait for someone at Findagrave or should I pay a professional and if so, who? I'm guessing there isn't any stone to be seen...but surely some burial records are still in existence. Any advice for me? Many thanks. Linda Kestner, Jacksonville OR firstname.lastname@example.org

RE: William Beverage Thank you, and I'll continue to look for the Robert Beveridge who married Anna Stevens Powell. I've checked my own database, but the Roberts that I've found in it were married to other women. Again, thanks for transferrring William Warren Beveridge.

Bertha Miller I'd like to thank you for taking the time to find my Grandmothers grave. I wasn't born until 23 years after her passing. I'm on a journey to find my fathers family. I live in California, so it's very difficult with the distance between us. Today I realized my Aunt is also buried in that cemetery. Today, April 30, is 6 years to her passing. I will put a request in for her photo also. This is an exciting yet bitter sweet adventure I'm on.... Thank You for being a part of it and making it happen. Sandra Miller
