Bio and Links
Bio Photo Working on photographing gravestones that have not been previously recorded in about two dozen central and northwest Iowa cemeteries. If you find a memorial I've created that does not include a photo, I probably have it and will get it posted eventually unless it includes the name of a living spouse.
I process corrections submitted through the edit tab several times a week and my memorials include large amounts of data submitted by others. I try to include the FindAGrave contributor source in material provided for the biography.
If you would like transfers, I am happy to do that unless I'm more closely related than you are. If you have better photos than mine, I am willing to remove mine. Please send your requests through the Edit tab on the memorial page.

Augusta Scherffius # 136454292
Augusta (originally Auguste in German) was my grandfather's sister. Although I never met her or her descendants, I have my father's baby book, which was a gift from his Tante (aunt) Auguste Scherffius. Her mother was Caroline Friederike (Leest) Burow, and I found her buried in English Grove Cemetery in Osakis, Minnesota. Her mother's findagrave id is # 98294147. I just found a baptismal record showing Auguste Louise Caroline Buhrow (sic) born 10 June 1852, baptized 20 June 1852 in Steinhoefel (now Chociwel, Poland, as was Freienwalde where my grandfather's obit says he was born.) Parents are listed as Aug Buhrow and Caroline Leest. According to my dad, Augusta's father had passed away in Prussia, and they came to America in 1866 as a family with four children. Somewhere I found the death date of 30 Jan 1937 for Augusta, but I didn't note my source. Augusta's husband was William Scherffius findagrave # 102716930. He died in Custer, MT, but was buried in Stark County, ND. If you would like to transfer Aunt Augusta's record to me, I would be happy to update it. John

Dan Tripp
My "Tripp" Family

Hello Iaed,

Thank you for your note regarding the place of burial of Anna (Floyd) Tripp. This led me to find that you have recently posted grave photos for her and several other members of my family. What a pleasant surprise. Thank you, thank you, for your kindness in adding these wonderful photos to the memorials, even though there were no photo requests made.

People like you are what makes "Find a Grave" such an enjoyable site to remember our family members that have passed. I'm sure all your contributions to the site have been very helpful to other family searchers too.

Best wishes,
Dan

Thank you so much for the photo. She is my great grandmother but I never knew her. Her son, my grandfather, was KIA in WWII and I never knew him either.

Did you happen to notice if her husband Oscar was buried there alongside her?
