Bio Photo About Me
Since I retired, I've found a bit of time to get back into genealogy. I think I've become addicted to FindaGrave. What a fabulous site! I enjoy setting up and maintaining memorials for my loved ones, as well as others. I also enjoy being a volunteer and taking pictures of headstones to fulfill requests!

My photo shows what I love most -- visiting those little old cemeteries.

My People
My family trees include: Sells, Winningham, Hill, Wright, Ledbetter, McDonald, Cook, Hymers, Morton, Douglas, Murphy, Clayton, Flowers, Galloway, Schatz, Harris, Wallis, Baker, Kupilik.

Making Requests
Please remember to use the EDIT button on memorial pages to offer suggestions, corrections, and even questions regarding specific memorials. Also please remember that no one is perfect -- we all make mistakes.

My Photos
Please feel free to use (for your personal non-commercial use) any headstone photos that I take and upload to FindaGrave memorials.

Arkasas Cem. around Newton County
I was told my great grandmother and her mother were buried in a cemetery that is now a lake. They both lived around the Newton county area, Mt Hersey area. Would any one have any records of this place? My Great grandmother was Eva Osborn Earnhart, and her mother was Elisabeth Osborn McIninch.

RE: Tommie Baker
I just received your message on findagrave.. I was very excited to hear from you about your Baker family. You suggested that my line is from Robert Kimbrough Baker. I find that this can not be true because my Thomas A Baker was born in 1860 or 1865. His stone is not congruent with his death certificate. I appreciate your efforts. .

RE: Pickett County Memorials
At one time there were photo's of the tombstones in Reedertown cemetery on findagrave. I wish they were still on there. Guess someone must have sent a new listing to Find A Grave and they didn't merge it with the old one. At any rate ...I wish I had saved the pictures. If I am remembering right there was one for Pherbia, but you couldn't read the stone. I was wishing they had chalked it...for the photo...and then washed the chalk off.
The Reeders seemed to be back in forth from Pickett/Overton TN to Morgan Co. IN.
Michael was living with his Grandmother Sarah Reeder in the 1870 census and is listed as a Reeder.
From what I can find it looks like he started using Fry when he became of age. I have tried to locate the records on Peter and Sarah Reeder's estate. There is supposed to a partition suit on 6 Oct 1863 in which Sarah sues Joseph C. Reeder, the administrator of Peter Reeder's estate, for her dower rights in section 33 and 34. The adult defendants were supposed to be William, Hiriam, Simeon, James, and John Reeder, Mary and Harvey Boles, Susannah and John Kemp, and minor defendant Michael Reeder. (Michael Fry) I am assuming here that Michael is coming in for his mother's part of the estate and that his mother Pherbia is deceased. Because she is not mentioned. (Mary Boles is the same person as Mary Melia Reeder. married 1. Humphrey Roberts. married 2: Harvey Boles) Morgan County Indiana court house can not find any of Peter Reeder's estate records. They tell me a lot of records have been destroyed by flooding...etc.
1870 census:

Age in 1870: 16
Birth Year: abt 1854
Birthplace: Indiana
Home in 1870: Jackson, Morgan, Indiana
Race: White
Gender: Male
Post Office: Morgantown
Value of real estate: View image
Household Members:
Name Age
Sarah Reeder 70
Michiel Reeder 16

RE: Pickett County Memorials
I am wondering if the Pherbia I am looking for is the grave next to Michael Fry's. There is one mentioned as unknown next to him.

RE: Pickett County Memorials
No. I have seen the Logan memorial. I believe he has the wrong info on her. My Pherbia was born in 1829. I think if he would look at the census's for the Reeder's he would see that they would have been to old to have a child born in 1845.

RE: Pickett County Memorials
No need to transfer. I am happy that they are online. Thanks for the offer.

But if you ever run across anything on Pherbia Reeder bn 1829. Never Married. But had an child, Michael with Capt. Fry/Frye/Frey, let me know.
Pherbia was the daughter of Peter Reeder and Sarah "Sally" Norman. According to her brother's bio in Pickett County History...she never married.

Pickett County Memorials
I have deleted the memorials that you ask me to delete. I don't know why people use names that they didn't go by when they make the memorials. They should be like the tombstones or like the names on the census that they used in real life.
Richard Pierce's stuff seems to be accurate. But I am not so sure about the guy that made the memorials. Some of his info seems to be incorrect.
At least on my family lines.
I have Wilborn/Wilburn, Arney, Reeder, Flowers, Cargile, and Garretts in my line.
