I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

|delbert falsken||Sterling Kottich Memorial #149879152|
Sterling is not in the Zion Bethel Cemetery, but the Zion Cemetery under #153330888 with the other Kottich family members. I noticed the duplication. Delbert Falsken, Contributor.

Hi Vernon - It looks like the "P" in Phyllis' name was cut off on her bio on her memorial. Could you please go back and fix that? It's the first word in her bio. Thank you : )

You recently added him to Agency Mo cemetery. But this is NOT correct. He is not buried there. I have put him in the correct cemetery which is McGehee-White Cemetery in Sardis Mississippi. Please delete him from Agency. Again he is not there. He is my cousin. I have cross flagged him with his father also.
Your memorial for my friend Jeffry Grace is a duplicate. An earlier memorial already existed. Please remove the duplicate. Thank you.
You memorial #153099697 entered on 10/1/2015 for Ila June Bridge McIntosh is a duplicate of my #20731055 entered on Aug 01, 2007
Also, your memorial #152748097 entered on for Lewis Frank Coats is a duplicate of my #21140417 entered on Aug 24, 2007.
Please delete your duplicates as it is causing confusion with gravers. Thank you.

The person died in 2011. My entry was 2015. Not sure what you're talking about :(

You created a duplicate instead of forwarding updated information to me to post.

Thank you for transferring my mother's memorial, to my care. I do appreciate your work on Find A Grave.

Per Find A Grave Rules
If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. Never deliberately create a duplicate memorial. In regard to duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location. If a case of duplicate memorials falls to the Administration, the Administration will have the final word on which memorial is deleted and which data will be retained in the remaining memorial page

This is the answer you used for making a duplicate memorial. I checked the date and left that in the original message to you! All you had to do was communicate the info you had to her to update it!! This site has rules you did not find a grave SHAME ON YOU for even implying that to her she has photoed many memorials and worked years and circles around you and SHE FOLLOWS THE RULES OF Find A Grave. YOU tell me where Find A Grave says ohh there is a headstone with no death date are they there or not??? hmmmm You know what, someone will make a memorial for you so you better watch for it, have seen it happen before.
RE: Bud E McDonnell
If you check the date you will see that he was put on in 2010, but did not die till 2015. This site is called find a grave not find a marker she should not put him on when he was not dead. My wife and I have had our headstone for 6 years but not dead.
Thank you Vernon.
