Retired from Geary County USD #475 in 2008 after 26 years of service. Grew up in Junction City, KS. Take photos at area cemeteries and post them to Find A Grave. Glad to transfer memorials upon request.|
Beneath the boughs of ancient trees
A little flag defies the breeze
And every carvings's stark relief
Reminds us of a day of grief.
The flowers in the vase soon wilt
And over time, the markers tilt;
The letters on a stone may blur
But even after decades stir
The memories of those before,
Of how they'd smile and laugh and roar.
And standing on this gusty hill
I think that they are with us, still.

Thank you very much for grave photo. We are getting better weather here in N.C. so will be able to do more with Find A Grave. Walt
|Jessie Champ-Batten||Thank you|
I just wanted to say thank you for all the work you have done at posting the pictures of the Champ family headstones. My late husband was James Arthur Champ. He was the son of Marion and Beaulah Champ. James passed away Jan. 27, 2012 of cancer and he would have loved to have known that someone was taking the time to do such a wonderful task. Again thank you so much.

I noticed that you have been working on Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas. I wanted to know if you have noticed an Aspelin's
that may be buried there. They died in the 1880's, and may not have a stone.
Are the cemetery records available?

Thanks for adding Frankie and Frederick Starkweather....my great grandparents. I sent you an email, check your spam if it doesn't show up. I have a list of names and relationships of the rest of Starkweathers buried there....they are mostly grouped together in a couple different blocks. Trisha

Thanks for adding the Miller photos. Are you doing Greenwood? If so I will be on the lookout--I have a slew of relatives, near and distant, buried there.
There were 12 or so kids in that Miller family, and four of them married into my families.

Do you have any idea who this Crandall is or when they married. He is a blank to us.
