I don't have a lot of free time, but I do love working on the family trees and genealogy. I enjoy trolling the cemeteries & when possible, researching the histories behind the names on the headstones...

When I go into a cemetery, I may take numerous pictures. If they are not listed on FAG, I will list them. I do not mind transferring any memorials that are not part of my ancestry line. Please feel free to ask. Thanks so much in advance, for any extra info or edits of any memorials. It is because of everyone working together that makes FAG such a wonderful site. It is a priceless resource, history in the making for future generations.

My goal is to strive to be as great of a genealogist as my dad is & my grannaboy was. That goal may be unattainable in this lifetime, but it is one I am pursuing....

I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank every person that takes their time, focus & energy to put work into FindAGrave. It is a wonderful & gracious thing.

If you see any errors on any of my work or if you desire a transfer, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you for using the 'Edit' button at the upper right hand of the memorial to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance for visiting my memorials and leaving flowers...

RE: Boyd
I can totally understand the work thing, lol. I work a 12 hr swing so I know all about it. So which Taylor are you related to? I know My great Aunt Ellen married a Taylor.

Thank you for responding so soon. Now that all of the older ones are gone I don't really have a lot of contact and honestly don't know very many. I spent a lot of time with my granny and her brothers and sisters but not many of the younger ones of the family. So it's nice to meet you :)

Yes, Curtis Hardy is buried right beside Ethel Sutton at Empire. There is an Airforce symbol on his stone. Ethel was his mother. He had a sister named Gladys and actually Gladys' daughter is Ora Mae (Swain?) the pastor's wife. I met her several years ago and she gave me a couple of pictures of Curtis and Ethel and one of him with her as a little girl. He left before my dad was born so he never knew him. We don't know any of his family besides her.

Anyway, i must go but please write again.Would love to get to know you better. Goodnight

Hello :)
My name is Ellen (Louellen) Hardy-Wilkinson. I am the granddaughter of Luedell Boyd Solomon daughter of Thomas M. and Nancy Boyd. I am just starting to do some research on genealogy and WOW is it overwhelming! I some how stumbled onto this website and was shocked when I saw the head stone of my great grandparents. So cool!!! I also noticed a message from a man named David regarding Nancy Sutton. Is this the same Nancy Sutton buried in Empire? Beside Curtis Hardy? If so and you have any information on either of them I would love to talk to you. Curtis was my grandfather and I have very little information about his family since he did not raise my father. BTW, does this mean you are related to me? Just curious. Hope to hear back from you soon.

I took a long look at the pictures of the headstone and it appears to me that the V in top right corner might just be a fault in the stone. One of the pictures showed part of the top of the stone and it seemed to be consistent with the side marking. Just an opinion.

RE: Pheriba Fairly MULLIS - Sutton @ 132735132
Hi Charlene!

Wow, thanks for the quick response. Yes, I kept looking at it, and it looked like a letter! But, you may just be right, that something decided to attach itself and grew there, may have been lonely...LOL.

I do the all the family research, mine and my 2nd wife Patti's side of the MOORE family, going back all the way to the MULLIS's, HASTY's, CAUDLE's, ALLEN's, GRIFFIN's, AUSTIN's and other's and all from North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, except Patti's father was somewhat more spirited and came West, and everyone else stayed pretty much in the South.

Charlene, I will wait for your finding's on the Headstone, whatever it may be, but don't hurry..., we're both retired people, so patience is a virtue...LOL, at least with me and as for the transfer of 'Pheriba' (interesting name) Memorial, I'd be honored to receive it and I'll build it up as I find information on her.

Thanks again Charlene..., and GOD Bless!

Pheriba Fairly MULLIS - Sutton @ 132735132
Hi Charlene!

I am just curious to know, and probably get asked a lot about this, but on Pheriba's headstone, in the upper right-hand corner, there seems appears to be a letter (looks like) 'V' or 'Y'. Do you know what it might say ??

Thank you so much, I appreciate this.

Also, (and I don't say this often enough), not only for me as a family researcher, but for the other researcher's as well, and that is, how we ALL appreciate your efforts in FindAGrave, cause without your unselfish dedication, in any weather, to create these handsome Memorial's, you see, I feel that family genealogy researcher's and investigators would be at a loss, without YOU!

Thank you Charlene, and all you Guy's and Gal's out there in FindAGrave, please, keep up the great work!
