I have been the family historian for my family since about 1992. I love the challenge of finding and adding missing ancestors to my family data file. Hardly a day goes by that I don't work on genealogy in some capacity. |
One of my biggest family mysteries is one of my Great Grandfathers, Francis Marion Robinson. He was born abt 1837 in Tennessee. He married Mary Jane Patton 09 Sep 1868 in Pope County, Arkansas. They had two daughters, Samantha A (Born abt 1868) and Mary Elizabeth (Born 07 Jan 1870). I have never been able to find the parents for Francis Marion. If anyone has any info on him please please pass it to me. I am also trying to find where Francis and his wife, Mary Jane are buried. I am hoping one day the info for Francis and Mary Jane will surface at FindaGrave.
In addition to my own family genealogy I am interested in adding memorials to FindaGrave.
I have photographed tombstones in Cemeteries in Marion County,and Linn County,Oregon.
I thought this would be a good way to "pass forward" all the wonderful help I have received from others while working on my own family research.
If you want me to make any changes on a memorial, please go to the memorial and click on the edit button,Please and Thanks you.

It creates an informative site when we share what we find, rather than hoard it for ourselves, as some contributors have done.

Thanks for linking those!

I will leave them as they are. Just want to connect the family. Thanks Diane
Betty, I have already asked for your permission to use your photos on ancestry, and you graciously said yes. At that time I had found your photo for Alice's younger sister, Ida May.
I haven't worked on this branch of the family for a while.

Betty, thank you for adding the photo of the graves for Alice and her husband, George. I don't yet know who was the third person whose name is on the stone.
I would like to ask for your permission to use that photo (and others you may have taken of gravestones of my ancestors) in my family tree on ancestry.com. Because the photographer has a copyright for each photo, I always ask before using a photo on another web site. I will, of course, put your name as the photographer and the web site of the memorial(s) as the source.
Thank you for considering my request,

I just re-read your bio - I was convinced you were from White County, Arkansas. Sorry about that.
|Gary G. Rowden||Searching White County|
Hi Betty, I am back searching in White County again. Still attempting to find the burial site for my maternal great grandmother, Sophronia I. 'Frony' Singleton Amyett. I have exhausted F/G, even went line by line thru 700+ burials in Sidon Cemetery where I was told she is buried. She was living with a daughter, Lorena Arabell 'Belle' Amyett Ragan in Cadron then in Kentucky, White, AR in 1920 census as a widow. Belle and Bill moved to Okmulgee, OK by the 1930 census and she did not go with them. Maybe you or other White County researchers can shed some light. I am not certain that Sidon Cemetery is the only one she could have been buried in either. One son, James Lafayette Amyett is buried in Providence Cemetery. My grandmother, Lillie Mae Amyett Sutton Puryear is buried in Jonesboro City Cemetery.
