|Jon Kitto||George R. Ruffin|
George was my great grandfather. His only child was my grandmother Helen Ruffin Marshall. He lived with her and her husband in Marshall in the years leading up to his death in 1915. Are you a relative? I have a lot of family history.

I personally don't have any records on George Ruffin but there might be info at the library here. They aren't open on weekends anymore so it might be a bit before I can look but I will put him on my list for my next trip there and see what I can find. Cindi

Do you have a copy of his obituary that you can share? Family members say his name is James Thomas Hightower.

|Bob Law||RE: Dinwiddie Cemetery - Henry Co|
Ann: I am not sure just what Dinwiddie Cemetery you are talking about. There are about four that I photographed. I took those photographs about ten or more years ago and I went with Jamie Louise Snead Merritt that lived in the area so we did not ask permission. The James Dinwiddie Cemetery, where Mary Carson is buried is in a woods. This is a very large cemetery and very well preserved. The Thomas Helm Dinwiddie Cemetery is also in a woods behind an old house. This cemetery has not been cared for and ten years ago was in bad conditin, a lot of the stones have fallen and there are a lot of vines around them. This was close to a house that we had to pass to get to the cemetery and we did ask if we could go to the cemetery, they said it was alright.This is a medium size cemetery. The Moses Dinwiddie Cemetery is a very small cemetery close to the highway. Some of these stones were in very bad condition when I was there and may not be there today. There is also a William Dinwiddie Cemetery but I do not have pictures from that. All of these cemeteries are in Henry County. The Historical Society of Henry County is very good and has a lot of informaiton, they are I think i McKeenzie. Cynthia Billingsley Kemp who was related to the Dinwiddies and lived in McKenzie I think went with us to the cemeteries. If she is still living she might go with you, she was very interested in the Dinwiddie family. Hope this helps you. If you have any questions let me know. I have a map showing the locations of the cemeteries if that would help you let me know and I can mail it to you.
