Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello My name is Dara. I owned an information company in Baton Rouge La that I sold in 2005 and I am now retired. I never tire of researching information. I live in North Harris County Texas and have access to all of the Houston area. If there is any way that I can help you by taking a picture of your ancestors grave, I'll be happy to do that.

Joseph Harris (1845-1845)
Dara,

I do have Alexander and Mourning Harris' memorials under my care, but I do not have Joseph. That one belongs to someone else. Sorry.

RE: Hollingsworth
Dara, thank you for all the transfers. You are kind to do this, and I will take good care of those graves. I don't know if I told you, but Andrew and Penelope (Cockrell) Hollingsworth are my ggggrandparents--the other Hollingsworths in Pleasant Hill are there offspring.

RE: Hollingsworth
I'm not good enough at this to know what to do with links yet, Dara. Thank you for the transfers. I love what you have done with Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

RE: 2 obits in Salem
You're welcome. We're on the "prowl" for old newspapers so might find a few more.

RE: Walker, John and G.W.
We only rarely find something in Athens now since Claiborne's Guardian Journal was a separate project but these obits are now the really, really old ones. We've not stopped our almost-weekly volunteer day at Broadmoor Library, though. Great to hear from you, too.

RE: Correction
Dara, I am correcting my own correction. I wrote from memory rather than going to my research. My memory failed me. Tempy is Harriet's daughter and not Penelopie's. I am so sorry that I have caused this confusion.

Correction
I appreciate so much what you are doing to photograph cemetary stones. I have one correction. Harriet O. Cockrell Hollingsworth had only one child and then died soon after. Her husband, Andrew J. Hollingsworth, then married Penelope Cockrell, and all the rest of his children are hers, not Harriet's.

No, I cannot find Minnie Harper. I am assuming an unmarked grave where her family is buried.

RE: martha dutton
Dara,
Thanks so much for the information about the Shreveport Library and the work they are doing on obits for Find A Grave. What a great idea! And how fortunate I am going to be to benefit from it with all the ancestors I have in that area of the country.
Thanks,
Mary
