Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family research since the late 1970's. I have been associated with the Jefferson County (KS) Genealogical Society, being the organizing President and since served in that capacity two more times. I live in Winchester, Kansas. My wife, Marie and I have been married 64 years. We have four living children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. My family research interests are many, but especially Riley, Nettleton, Curry and Fulton. We have many ancestors buried in Atchison and Jefferson Counties, Kansas. In addition, I have served the United Methodist Church as organist for the past 50 years and have served the Winchester and Jefferson County North Schools as statistician for over 60 years. I was the Director of the Winchester Public Library at the time the present building was constructed.

Please contact me if you find a direct relative's memorial I manage, and would like to have the memorial transferred. Please include your Find a Grave ID # with any requests. If you find any errors or wish to have me add additional information to a memorial, please let me know.

One of your photos shows on Lonnie Jeanette Hemphill, memorial # 173230033. That is not the correct photo, would you please remove it? The photo was entered 6/20/2013 the memorial was enter 11/27/2016. I believe there must have been a glitch at some point to cause the error. Thank you.

RE: Jerry A. Thomas #57878282
No problem, and thanks for removing the photo. Thank you for adding some new photos and memorials. I have been working primarily on the older thousands of tombstones and rarely get into a couple of the newer areas. It's terrific you are still active and hope you enjoyed your trip to our town. :)

Jerry A. Thomas #57878282
I declined your date changes because the Jerry you took a photo of is a different person. Please remove that photo from my memorial and make a new memorial for the person with the stone. FYI, all of the burials up through 1940 have already been added to Findagrave for this cemetery so that may be helpful information for you. I added his obit and d.c. so you could see that it is a different person. Also, if you know the Block where the tombstone is, please add to plot field as that is very helpful to identify in this very large cemetery. Any questions, let me know via my Thomas memorial. Thanks!

May I use the monument photo that you contributed to the memorial of George Burbank, to post on the Vermont C.W. site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

God Bless You
Thank you for adding Clifford Raymond Lobb of Nortonville, KS. Were you a friend of his? I recently found a plastic sheath with 3 photos of Clifford in the military, and a card from someone named "Joan" to Clifford and his wife, Cora Belle dated 2010. There was also an old newspaper clipping in it from WW2 about Clifford. I finally found the Bartlett Funeral Services that served his family upon his death last June. I just mailed the items to them and they will give it to his wife.
Those items seemed too precious to not look for the rightful owner. I'm a Christian and was real impressed with His life in service to God and country. I also see that you serve the Lord as well. God bless you, Raymond.

Sincerely, Susie Arviso

Stella Snuffer
Ray, Would you please tell me if you are by any chance from Stella. I am from a Knight family that came over with William Penn on a ship "Society". Down the line a bit, I share a Grandmother that comes from the Tudors in England. I have never put that up on the internet as I really don't want all the attention it would bring. When I first worked on the Snuffer family there really was not much out there to be found. Now there is but I had not looked back until now. Please let me hear from you. Stella also had a brother named Everett that I have not looked for too.

Linda Doile Morris.

Want to hear something funny, I am from Winslow, Arizona.

Raymond, thank you for the memorial site on Marlin "Bud" Pottorf. Is it possible for you to transfer his site to me? I am interested in putting his obituary on the site.

I am a first cousin, once removed, of Bud Pottorf.
