I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

Yes Vernon, his last name is Moman. He's buried in Horton Cemetery. I actually think your photo is a much better one. Do you think I should try & get the other one removed by Find A Grave rather than the owner of the memorial? If you do, I'll do that.

I'd like to ask you to remove a picture from my Uncle George's memorial. My sister has ownership after ours were merged & she won't remove her picture of the headstone. I'd like to add a couple pictures for his daughter, but it takes up one of the spaces. I'm sure you'll understand. I so appreciate it. I know your's was probably on there first, but some people are just difficult, you know? :)
You do a marvelous job with keeping up with the obits around our area that I've pretty much quit. You & K-B both. Thanks for all the dedication to Find A Grave! I want you to know it's appreciated.

Your rant on my message page makes no seance nor is it or appropriate.

Timothy B Theel is not buried in the "Kearney Christian Church Cemetery" in Clay County, Missouri.
No one has been buried there for over 100 years. Check with the funeral home to find the corrct cemetery.
I am a member of the church and just wanted to help you.

Thank you! I forgot to ask about Claytonville Cemetery, Round Prairie Cemetery, and Spring Hill Cemetery.
I wonder if I may have your permission to use your grave marker photos on my family website. Check it out at www.freienmuth-shortridge.com/shortridge/cemeteries.html. This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Thank you for the transfer of this memorial. I appreciate all the fine work you do on Find A Grave. David Lesch
I would have added my own record with complete information. I don't appreciate you taking the newspaper obituary that was meant for family & friends.
