Bio Photo My Generations Past
Why do I search? Why do I need to Know About these past generations of so long ago. What were they like and how would they feel ,that eleven generations later wonder about them, still I am a part of them and they are a part of me. It took every single one to make this family. As I search for my history with each and every fact I grow closer and closer to my generation past. When I came across a picture that was 100 years old I look through all the faces and all the stories left untold. Like the man that looks like my son when I look into his eyes or the woman with her baby on her hip holding her head up high. As I search into the night, I feel myself grin maybe if I had met these people, we may not even be friends, But even if we weren't, they are still important to me. Every one of them contributed to my "own" family As my journey continues what a feeling I get Knowing 300 years before me they stepped where I step. To some it may seem like a waste or too much of a task, But for me it's a treasure to know about.
The poem was written for Carolyn Jividen Miller by Toby Browning at Lazarus Department Store in the Furniture Department where Toby worked Barboursville, WV 1999

"Not to know what happened before we were born is to remain perpetually a child. For what is the worth of a human life unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history"
-Cicero (106 - 43 B.C.)

A Cemetery exists because every life is worth loving
and remembering-Always.

I will allow everyone to use my photos for their Family History. In my opinion, family photos, including my headstone/marker photos need to be distributed between family members. The more people that have copies of them, the more likely they are to survive for several generations. No photos are to be used for Profit!!!!

Karl E. Herde
Judy, I'm trying to locate direct descendants of Karl E. Herde who died in Aiken, South Carolina. His wife was Edna Brown Herde and they were both from Oklahoma. Are you related, or could you refer me to someone who may be? Thank you for any help.

Just a note to thank you for putting on the Shaw family on Find a Grave. Also where do you find all the cute flowers, etc you put on the sites?

Just thought I'd let you know that I fulfilled your photo request for Elma Finseth. Find A Grave's fulfillment notification system apparently is not working.
