Bio Photo In April of 2010, I was made aware of Find A Grave in conjunction with the genealogical research I had recently started. I had found my great-great grandmother's grave marker posted on another site, but not her husband's. I contacted one of the site admins, who posted a request on Find A Grave and, voila!, a volunteer went out to the cemetery and took a picture! Following that, I decided to do the same for others, and I signed up to be a photo volunteer.

Shortly thereafter, we visited that cemetery in Illinois where my great-great grandparents were buried. It's about four hours away, and made a fun day trip on Memorial Day! While in the area, we visited two other cemeteries where other relatives were buried.

Family names I am researching are: Manning, Gauger, Sensenich, Hedegger, and Jurk. Hedegger and Jurk are in Germany.

I enjoy fulfilling photo requests, and spend a lot of time trying to get good pictures. However, I don't fulfill photo requests that are put into the "Notes" section of someone else's memorial (that of a spouse, for example). My reason for this isn't because I want to "rack up numbers". It is because using that method to try to get photos not only circumvents Find-a-Grave rules, but makes more work for the photo volunteer, as well as increasing the chance your request will get missed. There needs to be a separate photo request submitted for each memorial for which you want a photo.

Duplicate memorial
Hello, I had to remove a duplicate memorial and have turned it into a different one. Could you please remove the photo at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=71879754
You have added the photo to the earlier created memorial for these people and I thank you for the gravestone photo. She was a family member.

I am writing to ask your permission to copy your picture of Ruben Carroll's grave marker to my computer's genealogy file. I am distantly related to his wife Madge Kropf. Thanks! Randy Harrison, Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada

William Rea
Hi,
Would you be willing to add the grave photo you posted for Samuel Rea in Fairbank Cemetery to William Harrison Rea's memorial also since they are on the same stone? Thanks, Barb

I see in the picture of this cemetery that the roadside gate is locked, I was wondering if you could walk to cemetery from the road! There are some photo requests that I thought about fulfilling there! Thank you Patty Wisher

Photo Requests
I accidentally read the comment you made to someone else about not putting "Thank you" in the comments area of photo requests. I didn't know that either. Good thing to know, for all of us. Thank you for the lesson.

RE: Photo Requests
Al,
Thanks for your message, point well taken and will in the future not add any Thank you messages, was only trying to be courteous and did not realize I was complicating matters for certain volunteers. Cheers and thank you for your dedication to Find A Grave.

RE: Information
I thought that you could add the photo to the site without my email? Do you need more information about my request?
