I have moved back to Leon, Iowa in Decatur County. I will continue to work on Decatur County issues. My gggrandparents came to Iowa about 1849. They came to Leon after the Civil War. I enjoy delving into history of Decatur County and its families. I will gladly transfer control of any entry to someone involved with the various families. We have moved again to the Gernand Retirement Village in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Our location has changed, but not my appreciation for Find A Grave.|

Thank you for your kindness in photographing the grave marker for Abner M. & Elizabeth Burns. What an unusual marker! It's a real pleasure to be able to see it. I am indebted to you.

BIG thank you for your great photo of Freddie Potter's grave stone. It had to be re-carved because they made a mistake and gave his wife Elsie a death date also that was actually her mother in law's date! Elsie (Cook) Potter is still very much alive and well - Her father and my grandfather were brothers. Thanks for taking time to take this photograph and post it for me. Clc

Hi Clarence - You posted a photograph of my great-great grandfather's gravestone - Albert Brockway - who is buried in the Decatur City Cemetery. I last visited his grave a number of years ago, and at that time the stone was standing. In your photograph, it has toppled. Would you happen to know who I might contact to have the stone repaired? And, I've attempted to learn who has possession of the cemetery records, but no one seems to know. Would you happen to know?

Hi Clarence, I was thinking about you today and thought I'd say hello. You moved quite a long way from Leon! I know you miss Decatur county though. Thank you for all the work you've done on Find A Grave for Decatur county. You gave me a link to several family members, and I appreciate the work you did. Take care up there in cold northeast Iowa!
