I love this site! I appreciate the work of people who make these memorials and those who take the photos to match. Because of the work of others I have found several 'long-lost' ancestors. I don't know that I would have found them any other way. Thank you to all who have made an entry, taken a photo, made a transfer, or created links between family members. |
I am a retired teacher and I live in Michigan. I have been making entries and taking photos of the cemeteries around me in several counties. I am not related to the majority of the people for whom I've created memorials. I'm happy to edit these entries or transfer them.
I think it's wonderful that there are people on FAG who like to add more information to the memorials than just that which is shown on the gravestone or recorded in a cemetery transcript. They dig into local records and look for birth and marriage and death information. I am constantly in the process of doing that for my ancestors and relatives and friends. But I also appreciate the efforts by those who add just name, date, and plot information. It's these people who help us find our relatives' burial locations in the first place. Isn't it wonderful that we have both kinds of volunteers on FAG!
I'm not the best photographer around, but I'm learning as I go. Please feel free to use any photo I've taken.
I am under attack by another FAG member who has somehow managed to 'steal' over 400 of my memorials from a small cemetery in Northern Michigan, a great many of which are my husband's direct and collateral ancestors and relatives. In addition she leaves 'flowers' on some of my other memorials attacking my research and work. I'm hoping the FAG administration will address these issues and rectify the situation.
Thanks to the FAG administrator who helped me with this issue. Said he could find no note explaining the move, but did restore them to my account. I am very grateful.

I have found so much information on this site. It is great!
I have entered the parents along with linking Kenneth's wife Laura M. Gordon and their daughter Judy.
Thank you for transferring these memorials to me. I have not made more memorials I have found them however. I plan on adding one for my Dad who was Kenneth's son. I am however just not ready to see it on there yet. I hope that makes sense.
I am working with Find a grave to research my family tree. Do you know the family?

I think we are somewhat kin. I have been working on the Bradl family in Ludington both on here and on ancestry. My Great Great Great Grandmother was Anna Bradl (married to Joseph Horacek) Her brothers were Joseph and Frank. One of them had a Ranville in their offspring. I am assuming you must be related since you took over the Bradl grave. I was just wondering if you had any old family stories about the Bradls or anything of the such. All I have on Joseph and Anna Bradl) Horacek is that they had an 80 acre fruit orchard just off Stiles Road in Ludington. I found Annas parents names but not whether or not they immigrated too etc.

Hi Laura! I have added the death date for John Nash as you requested.
Again;I want to THANK YOU for all the hard work you have put into these memorials. It is so nice to have someone who spends the extra time to add information other than just the dates. I know it takes a lot of time to do the research.
NO SOUR GRAPES HERE!
|Sharon Rogers O'Neill||Thank You|
Thank you for your hard work and contributions. Although I don't think we have interacted, I wanted to let you that you are appreciated by so many. I hope you will soon get your difficulties resolved and your memorials restored. It's unfortunate that this has happened. Good luck!

Three cheers for Laura who is doing amazing work for all of us who are unable to get out there and do it. Most of us are appreciative and I want to thank you again Laura for all of the transfers even though I suspect a couple might have been a part of your family. I also want to thank you for allowing people to use your photos.

Oh "submit the corrections and you'll be happy to make the corrections." Does that translate into; you are going to hold onto all the people in Cheboygan, like you have been doing? Is that how you answer a question? That is exactly what you have been doing and the work is not getting done and the family members continue to not have their own family. Is that what you are saying?
