Bio and Links
Bio Photo Each time I create a memorial I delight in thinking that it may someday provide valuable information to a genealogist or comfort to a loved one.

Transfers - Please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial, send a "Suggest any other correction" message including your "ID number", I'm more than happy to transfer memorials as per FAG rules which are your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If your relationship to the deceased is not listed, please consider adding the memorial to one of your virtual cemeteries, and use the edit functions to add additional info to the memorial I created.

If FAMILY MEMBERS wish to have a memorial deleted I will do so, no questions asked.

Some dates/names on the headstones are hard to read. If you can help, please click the Edit tab at the top and input the changes. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated in the completion of "Unknown" and incomplete memorials.

Volunteer contributors spend countless hours creating memorials after visiting cemeteries, photographing headstones and obtaining burial information. I am sure everyone would like to know their efforts are appreciated. I know I do.

A big "Thank You" goes out to everyone who sends any info and links for the memorials I've added.

Thank you to:
- Alberta Genealogical Society Lethbridge Branch for:
- Lethbridge, AB grave locations and unmarked grave details.

RE: Vinton Taylor
Here is a link to Dr. Henry Taylor. I have put up his obit and a bit of history. Never sure how to do "hyperlinks". Walford's wife Elizabeth Jane Webb came from a large family. Many, including her father George Webb and mother Francis Lannin (both from Cork Ireland) are buried in Van Buren County, Michigan. I think this may be what drew Walford & Elizabeth to the area on 1880 census. Found a stone for Elizabeth. There is a photo of your husband's maternal 4xgrandparents put up by another descendant from Michigan on Find A Grave. Think I have linked them to her for you. Walford was born in Frontenac area of Ontario. Those fonds I spoke of in another message were written prior to 1928 and retyped by a daughter of Ida Taylor Millar named "Ruth" circa 1963.

RE: Vinton Taylor
I have yet to hear from the contributor in Midlothian Cemetery. Have requested links for other family in same cemetery. In the interim, and in case I forget, have linked Henry and wife to Walford Taylor. (Can't add his obit (taken from history book "The Medical profession in Upper Canada, 1783-1850" : an historical narrative with original documents relating to the profession, including some brief biographies) until I hear back. Meanwhile have found his son Samuel Paul Taylor in Oil Springs, Lambton and have added a son for him. Can't link him till I hear back. His daughter, Mrs. Sneider and I do know her first name..... is in same cemetery as he with same contributor...grave photos are also on another site not Find A Grave. If James died in Michigan, should be able to find him if you like. The aforementioned book is in ebook format on Nos racines and there are 3 pages of history including his beginnings in medicine in England, father Samuel, and includes his obit as follows:

The following is taken from the Huntsville paper, April 18, 1890.
"It has fallen to the lot of very few journalists in Canada to record the death of a citizen as old as the late Dr. Henry Taylor who passed peacefully away to his long home on Thursday the 3rd instance, at the ripe age of 100 years 3 months and 3 days. The last days of this life were spent in Burk's Falls with his daughter, Mrs. Snyder. He retained a wonderful degree of physical and mental vigour until the end. He was a member of the Methodist Church for over forty years and was highly respected, both in his profession and private life by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss, four sons and one daugher, viz: Mrs Snyder and Walford Taylor, of Burk's Falls; Wm. Taylor of Ryerson; Samuel Taylor, in western Onatio, and James Edward Taylor, in Michigan, U.S.A."

His wife Mary Ann Margaret Randolph is indeed United Empire Loyalist background and probably came from Pennsylvania. She was 30 plus years his junior so he may have had a prior marriage. His obit does not mention the son Cyrus Burleigh Taylor as being a son so maybe he was hers from a prior marriage? Cheers.

RE: Vinton Taylor
I have asked the contributor for Dr. Henry Taylor to make some basic connections within the cemetery for he and his wife Mary Ann Randolph, spouses etc. Also sent a document link for William Randolph Taylor (a brother to Walford) to another contributor has lots of info on second wife but has William R in wrong cemetery (WR in correct cemetery William in other). Should be with wife #1 same cemetery. Will wait a few days to see what activity to amend records and make connections. I am reading from family fonds created before 1960 to make connections so no hero here ;). Think I sent you a link to Walford's profile through Cyrus. One accounted for and others may follow. When dust settles, ask me to transfer mgmt. for Walford and I will so you can create meaningful bio etc. If you see Henry linked to Walford, you will know stuff has been accepted and processed. :)

RE: Vinton Taylor
I believe this Taylor family may have been United Empire Loyalists. Vinton's Great Grandfather, Dr. Henry Taylor, born in late 1790's England, lived to be 100 years old back in the day when this would have been very rare. Have found his grave.

Could any additional information be found on Nick J. Wiebe who was married to Alemeda Selma Wiebe (Dofher)? I am looking for a way to find his parents so that I could find where my ancestors came from. Unfortunately I live in Ontario so I am unable to come. Thanks!
