Thank you for taking the time to try and get some marker pics at Colfax. Kerry and I have been working on it for a couple of years and are continually finding duplicates and other problems. We work from a variety of sources including funeral home records, cemetery ledger, plot maps, newspapers, etc. We both appreciate you efforts and my thanks to you for identifying the Lutter/Luther duplicate...it's fixed now.

Thanks for the marker pics at Colfax..
Many of the burials are not in the ledgers because the ledgers only go back to 1927. the records from 1873-1926 were destroyed in a wild land fire that burned the cemetery grounds, wood markers, and the cabin that the records were kept in.
The cemetery workers then re-drew the plot maps from memory, so there is the potential for tons of mistakes on exactly where anyone is buried before 1927.
We have been working on Colfax for over 2 years. It might seem to you that we aren't working together, but I can reassure you, that we are.
As for male Benton and Thomas Benton being duplicates, it's possible, but I tend to think their birth dates and burial location in the cemetery are too far apart as I didn't shoot the tombstones in the section that Male Benton is supposedly in.
Thanks again for your assistance.

Thanks for doing the updates : ) Yes, I have already sent the update info to the person who owns her memorial (along with a detailed bio explaining her husbands so people understand which children belong to which father). I understand the updates will be completed this week. Appreciate your time : )

|Topeka Tom||Outstanding Cemetery Photo!|
Thank You very much for your outstanding photo for Roselawn Cemetery in Oklahoma.
You managed to show the setting, entrance, quite a few of the stones, and somehow you didn't focus on the road, the telephone poles, or the rear view mirror that unfortunately typify cemetery photos.
And thanks for sharing that once-in-a-blue-moon sky you had that day.
Five stars and an outstanding rating from me. Not sure I'll say the best I've seen. . . . But I can't rule that out either!
(Proud of my photography and envious of yours!)
