A native of Miami, Fla., and now living in South Carolina since 1979, I've been a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) for more than 32 years and was a member of the U.S. Air Force and S.C. Air National Guard for almost 40 years. I retired from the Air Force in Feb. 2010 as a Major (almost 13 years enlisted and more than 27 years a commissioned officer). My wife, Judy, and I have four grown children: a daughter, three sons, and six grandchildren. Our daughter is a former teacher and now a full-time mother in Virginia. Our three sons have fulfilled and are continuing to fulfill their duty to their country as military members of the Air Force and the Marines. I enjoy photography, genealogy, and helping others in their genealogical quests. I am glad to be able to try to fulfill photo requests as time permits. I am pastor of the Salem Presbyterian Church (founded 1812) in Fairfield County (SC) located about 32 miles north of Columbia. I am a graduate of Miami Senior High School, Miami, Fla., 1968; The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., 1972, Charleston, S.C., and Columbia International University, Columbia, S.C., 1984, as well as numerous DoD and USAF schools. I am a descendant of Joshua Hodges, Sr., (R.S.) (1736-1809), Nathaniel Hodges, (1777-1858), Wade Payton Hodges, (1822-1877), Nathaniel Thomas Hodges, (1860-1943), Charles Groover Hodges, Sr., (1889-1980), and Charles G. Hodges, Jr., (1920-2013) I am also a descendant of the Trulocks from south Georgia, specifically Gordon Byron Trulock, (C.S.A.) On my mother's side, I am a descendant of the Jones, Rhodes, Trawick, McCall, and Sammons families of Dale and Barbour counties, Alabama.|

Hi, I added the bio for Stevan that you sent to me. I am not related, but it is nice to add major accomplishments not mentioned in an obituary.

Thank you. You can keep the memorial, I don't know them. I just send edits to people when I find more info about a person from one of their relatives obituaries.

Thanx for your message about typos in the obit.
I usually cut 'n paste without checking actual spelling. But, I should have caught the obvious boo-boos.
Thanx for your service!
|Jonnie in SC||Thank you!|
Thank you for adding the photo of the World War II Memorial to the FindaGrave memorials of several distant family members, including Stanley D. Arrowsmith. I was unaware of this new monument dedicated to those from Fairfield County who served in WWII.
It is FindaGrave members like yourself who make this resource so valuable to researchers.
Keep up the good work.

You have known Roy Brunhart a long time. You sound so positive and yes he was a charming Officer, loving Father, Relative, and now a friend as well. Thank you for the confirmation. He was my wife's brother. He was the oldest in the family of 3 brothers and one sister, Barbara Brunhart, my wife. I worked with him on several projects and we were helping the family to get over an early death of his father's, Andrew Brunhart at age 74. He was an Attorney and served the committee as an city of Milwaukee attorney. His mother, a German Language teacher at the University of Wisconsin was a gentle person and loved her family. Both have passed away and hopefully, rest in peace. Your kind words are very much appreciated and will be distributed to the four daughters and one step son.
Thank Richard Hodges!
