Bio and Links
Bio Photo Although an Asheville native, my genealogical bases are Yancey, Mitchell and Iredell Counties. Surnames closely related to me are Vickery, Morrison, Bradshaw, Stevenson, Gibson and Bagwell.

I will never create a grave for anyone about whom I know nothing; if I do not have any information other than two dates I leave creation of the memorial to someone who hopefully does have it. These people deserve more on their memorials than just dates, no matter how large the cemetery!

Those who transcribe whole cemeteries without even bothering to use dates, just to boost their numbers, should be banned from the site, in my opinion. With the resources of the Internet now available, there is no excuse for such.

However, I am happy to transfer graves of any persons who are not related to me, to anyone who is related to the deceased. That said, please do not abuse this. Thanks.

PLEASE NOTE: We can NOT link parents to children! That is, we have to link children UP to parents, not link parents DOWN to children. It's just the way the site works. Please do not contact me about adding children to the parents' graves. I can't. Instead - contact the creators of the chidren's graves and ask them to link the kids UP to the parents - it is the only way to do this.

Kindly refrain from post death certs on my memorials. Photos are great, however.

Sallie Belle Watt Deal

I left you a few emails and a few too many messages (sorry) but the above is not William Tillet Watt's daughter, could you please remove. Sallie's father was William Thomas Watt as you have control of that Find A Grave and that is where she needs to be attached too.

Thank You

Sallie Belle Watt Deal
I found it, her father from her mother's (Caroline Morrison) first marriage which I have to presume was William Thomas Watt since it shows his wife as Margaret Kathryn Watt per Find A Grave information. His birth date 1844, Iredell County, North Carolina, date of death 10/25/1922. Two of his children Carl Summers Watt and Fannie Ola Watt reflect the newspaper obit. regarding Sallie Belle Watt Deal as half brothers and half sisters. Again this is on Find A Grave. So Charles Platenburg Watt is not related to Sallie Belle Watt Deal as your posting shows. I understand a-lot of this is not what you post. It's interesting because both of these William's were born about the same year and died the same year.

Sallie Belle Watt Deal
Sorry about this but on Ancestry from The Landmark, Statesville, N.C. newspaper, 8/5/1946 there is the obit. about Sallie Deal. It states she is also survived by two half brothers and two half sisters, Harry Watt, of Statesville, Carl Watt and Miss Ola Watt, Stony Point and Mrs. Ramyer Campbell, Harmony.

Based on the above which has to be accurate, the
William Tillett Watt (1845-1921) as the father cannot be her father. He had three children, Mary Frances, Charles P. and Anne or Annie Watt with Augusta M. Ferguson Watt.

There were a number of William Watts or WT Watt, but not this William Tillett Watt.

Sallie Belle Watt Deal
I do not think I was paying attention. I see William's first wife was Caroline Morrison or Sallie's mother. What's very strange I have this copy-Proof of Will of William T. Watt and he never mentions Sallie, the Will was created in 1911.

Sallie Belle Watt Deal
I am confused about this person Sallie Belle Watt Deal. William Tillett sometimes spelled Tillet Watt was married only once to Augusta M. Ferguson to my understanding and in 1874. So what is shown is that Sallie Belle Watt Deal was from a prior marriage correct since she was born in 1969? Do you happen to know who her mother was?

I know William and Augusta had three children:

Mary Frances Watt married name Cross
Charles P. Watt
Annie H. Watt-born 1880, married name McClendon

I have a copy of the will executed in 1911 with no mention of Sallie.

I am helping someone out in a deed issue regarding real estate about this family.

Sherman Johnson
Re: memorial #129828524

Could you remove the note you left with the flower. Two memorials were merged to show the correct cemetery for Sherman Johnson. So now the note is not relevant, and could be confusing.

Info on Lemuel Griffith
Hi!! I noticed the death info for Lemuel Griffith's second wife Madge Woodby was unknown. She was my great grandfather's second wife. Curiosity got the best of me to find out what happened to her, and it took me a lot of research to find it, so I thought I'd share it. It's also quite an interesting story. After she was the first time in 1932, she married a man named J M Lewis in 1933. He died around 1937. She then married my great grandfather, Isaac Hayes Ollis, in 1938. The had 2 daughters. Pearl June Ollis (spelled Pearlie on her death certificate) was born in 1940. Edna Mae Ollis was born in 1942. Pearl died from acute leukemia at the age of 3. I don't know what happened to Edna. Haven't been able to find her yet. My great grandfather died in 1948. She married a man named Don Laws in 1949. He died within a few years and she married Karroll/Carol/Karal Clark in 1953. She died under the name Madge Clark on 3/21/1961. Her death certificate shows she died in Broughton Hospital and she'd been a resident there for 364 days. I'm sure you know this but just in case you don't, Broughton Hospital is a mental hospital. Poor thing was widowed 4 times and had at least one child die. Such a tragic life. My great grandfather is buried in this cemetery. Madge's daughter Pearl's death certificate says she is buried there too, but she doesn't show up on findagrave. Madge and her last husband Karal Clark are also buried there.

Thanks you for posting the note on the 'other' memorial for this lady and letting us know she is buried in the Fairview Cemetery. The first poster passed away and it is hard to get Find A Grave to make corrections.
