|Sharon Carpenter||RE: Carpenter, Montezuma Cem., N|
There are 4 Carpenters listed on the Montezuma Cemetery site: Cecil H. [1877-1931], his wife, Lula Clifton [1891-1978]; John Calvin [1846-1931] and his wife Mary Banner[1851-1934]. We could not find any of them. Is there a second Montezuma Cemetery in Avery County of which we are unaware? Under a different name?
Thank you for such a quick response. And thank you for your service in Vietnam.

My husband and I were at the Montezuma Cemetery
yesterday looking for any Carpenters and could
not find a one. Can you tell me where the picture for the Carpenter stone came from. We should have seen this as it is in excellent condition.
Thank you very much.

|Sue Leitzsey Bradley||RE: Shirlie Margie Smith Cook|
Thanks for the info. I have corrected Shirlie's obit. If you don't mind my asking, why did Joe go from being a Smith to a Denton. This is a man who registered with the military using the name Smith. The brother born before him and after him kept the name Smith. I could wrap my head around it better if his name was changed as a child, but this was a grown man. Even his daughter was given the name Smith at her birth. If this is too personal, you don't need to give me an answer. I just see it as a mystery!

Thank you for the transfer of

Could I have your permission to use that wonderful photograph of Hannah Lewis Calloway that you posted on her memorial (memorial #60125893)? I'd like to post it on Ancestry.com. Of course I will credit you with the photo. Can I ask where you got the photo? Hannah is not directly in my line. Her 4th great-grandfather is Zachariah Campbell Sr. (my 5th great-grandfather), and the family is one of my research interests. Thank you very much.

Thank you So Much for the transfer of Jonathan Miller. Do you know of anyone who has a copy of any portrait of Jonathan and Margaret (Carpenter) Miller? I would So Love to have one. I have a photo of their home and the church they built in Clifton. Both still stand.
