I've always been interested in cemeteries. I remember walking with my dog when I was a teenager and trying to find the oldest marker in the cemetery. Sometimes, I just stop at old cemeteries and have a good look around. I began researching my family tree about eight years ago. Some of my ancestors are: Springman, Swartz, Turner, Falk, Shoemaker, Husken, Kent, Naylor, Maier, Thompson, O'Brien, Schaefer, Schultz, Hunsberger, Hoch, Derstine, Moyer, Sellers, Daugherty, and Lamison.

Through FindAGrave, I have found relatives that are researching the same lines I am.

If anyone needs pictures taken of a special gravesite with 25 miles of Bradenton, FL, just send me a message.

Henry Bachman Swartz
I added some headstone photos to his memorial page. On the stone it also has a Catharine Seese Swartz as his wife. I see that you have another memorial for a Catharine Suse Swartz and was wondering if this was the same person. The dates on the stone a different than those that you have for Catherine that is why I am asking. I will add photos to her memorial also if it is the correct person.

I thought you might type in their names in the "bio" section. I know you can't link to the unknown.
I do this for many of my memorials. Thank you for your response.

Howard Aston
I am a Great Grandaughter of Howard Aston. I am interested in where you obtained some of the info you posted on his memorial. Also interested in where you fit in the family tree. Your surname hasn't come up in my research. I appreciate the pictures of the headstones of Howard and Mary. I used to live in that area but was not interested in genealogy at the time. I just found find-a-grave 2 weeks ago and am excited about the information I have found so far. Thank you for your hard work.

William Falk 1917 - 1919
I attempted to get a picture of this stone today. I found the stone for the others but there was not one near it for this William. I have contacted the people that are in charge of the cemetery that have the books. If they can tell me exactly where the stone is located I will know for certain that the stone is missing. I'll let you know what I find out. There were 3 stones for Falk's one had 2 names on it. Do you want those? I only live a couple of miles from the church cemetery.

Sorry for the shortness in my message. I didn't mean to be unkind.

You might want to check out the date of birth on his headstone. Using the date you have posted as date of birth makes his mother 10 years old when he was born. Don't think so.

How do I add a memorial when I'm not sure what cemetery they are buried?
This is similiar to adding a memorial for cremation. Do not create a new cemetery which
Use the Family and Friends link to add these memorials.
Choose "Other" under the burial option.
Choose one of the options under "General Info" on the next page. If the burial location is unknown, choose "Recent death, location of body unknown". If, later, you find out where the person is buried, you may go back to the memorial page and click the "Edit" link next to the "Burial: Unknown" section of the memorial page. Then, click the button next to "Cemetery burial" and proceed with adding the cemetery.

Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. You should however make every effort to locate the final disposition and update it as soon as possible

RE: Droz
Kelly,

So many of the Cemeteries in Huntington County go by 2 and 3 names that I am sure findagrave has not picked up on. It is because we are mostly descendants French, German, and Miami Indian people. They all 3 had names for the same thing and those names have all been americanized. I am sure other communities have the same problem. It is just irritating though. I will ask Joan or Diane at the library which name the German Reformed is now. I am hoping tomorrow or Tuesday to get down there. It is 43 degrees and our snow is melting. Making a very big mess, but it is melting.
