We are volunteer members of the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society Cemetery Committee working together to bring the past to life.|
We walk the cemeteries and photograph the memorials and tombstones. We cannot research your genealogy for you. Please contact Vigo County Public Library for obituaries; they also have online death records and marriage information at www.vigo.lib.in.us (Special Collections) Genealogy and Local History.
We have had several memorials transferred to us for the Cemetery Committee to maintain. Thank you!

Thank you. I am very active on Find a Grave and make every effort to continually update and add to memorials. My family includes Downing, Yocom/Yocum/Yoakum, Garrigus/Gargus, Bucy, and Wilson branches in Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia. I am happy to take over maintenance of any of these memorials. Thank you so much for your hard work--God bless, Andrea Poynter McDaniel

This man is my great Uncle. My great grandmother was Lora Abigal Garrigus. My grandmother was Dollie Pearl Garrigus and my Mom, Rose Marian Bucy Poynter is her daughter. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana. I would appreciate
being able to maintain any of the Garrigus, Yocum, Yocom, Adams, Bucy, etc Find a Grave memorials in the Terre Haute, Brazil, as well as Clay and Parke County areas. They are all my family members and our family has always been very close.

May I use the above #19737365 picture of headstone.
The child was my cousins baby. If possible, may I have permission to use info that is posted by you for the rest of my family. I only use it for genealogy research

Sorry, but her birth date appears to be incorrect. Based on the headstone being accurate as to the date year/month/date after her date of death = she was born 6 September 1805.
I've found this site calculator
http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadded.html?m1=01&d1=10&y1=1882&type=sub&ay=76&am=4&aw=&ad=4&rec= to be of a big help in determining the actual date of birth - that is assuming the stone-carver was not in error.

Thanks so much for the continuing transfers. I'm about two-thirds through my biggest family, the Wrights, with many more smaller families still to go. I think you may hear from me again when I get to the Ashcrafts.
Over the coming years as I work my way back through and add the Bios, it will be so much easier to be able to add them directly to all the pages that so many people have been kind enough to transfer to me. For those that I have to send as SACs, I'll have to keep copies then check back in 30 days, and if they haven't been added I'll then need to forward them to Edit. That's a lot of extra work for a lot of people, which I'm hoping to avoid as much as possible.
|Caitlin Lehman||Orville Mitchell (1905-1910)|
The findagrave page for Orville Mitchell(1905-1910) in Riverside Cemetery shows that his parents are John R. Mitchell (1859 - 1927) and Melinda Abernathy Mitchell (1863 - 1952). However, I believe his real parents are John L. Mitchell (1884-1940) and Jeannett Mitchell (1889-1956), buried in Hobart Cemetery in Hobart, Indiana. In the 1910 census, there is a "John, Jennett, and Orville Mitchel" who reside in Clinton, IN on South Fifth Street, which matches the included news article on the page. John Mitchell, Orville's father, would be my 2 times great-grandmother's brother. I appreciate the work you all do. Thanks!
