It bothers me so to see people ruining the integrity of such a valuable tool as "Find A Grave" by posting multiple listings of the same cemetery, cemeteries that don't exist or just guessing that someone might be buried in a given cemetery. I have photographed several hundred cemeteries in Northeastern Conn. Mass. and R.I. and only once did I find a cemetery that wasn't already listed. Even then I researched it and the people entered there for several months before adding it. I have over 250,000 gravestone photos and have photographed many cemeteries in there entirety, I use the "Hale Collection" done in the 1930's as my bible. If your marker request is older than a 1932 death date and not listed in the "Hale" census, you can be 999.9% sure it doesn't exist. If the marker wasn't there then or was unreadable, how can you expect someone to find it now? Being so, I'll no longer fill requests for anyone who abuses the integrity of this site. PLEASE do us both a favor and check with the Hale Collection before entering a request older than 1932 or adding a new cemetery as most likely if its in the Windham, Tolland, New London, or Hartford Counties of Connecticut its already listed, could be just under a different name than you might have. There are some cemeteries that have had name changes or even have several names. Quite a few older cemeteries have even been moved and combined with others. If your still unsure or having a problem, I'll be glad to help you research it. Thank You. The link to the "Hale Collection" is...http://www.hale-collection.com/index.html|
USE OF PHOTOS: All photos on Find A Grave are copyright protected and permission is needed for even personal use. Those who strictly prohibit the use of photos for any and all reasons have no place in posting them in a public forum. But I myself have restricted the use of my photos because of a very few who abuse this site and have taken my photos only to post them as there own. This site should be left to we addicted genealogists who believe in helping each other out. After all, were all brothers and sisters through Adam and Eve. Being said; Even though I mark my photos copyright protected, there use for personal reasons is granted as long as there posting to your site meet one of two conditions. My newer photos have the copyright disclaimer already watermarked onto the photo, and although adding "Photo by brianz190" somewhere would be a nice gesture, if its already on the photo, its not needed. But for my older photos where there's no watermark, permission is granted as long as somewhere it credits me ( "Photo by brianz190" )as having taken the picture. I apologize for those few photos I've placed a watermark across the face of the monument, But that was done because I know that's a photo sought after by one of those few abusers. Photos that you will be using for personal use and you will "NOT" be reposting anywhere online/and those you will use for printing are available on request without the watermark. Thank You for understanding.
PHOTO REQUESTS AND INFORMATION INQUIRES;
I have over a quarter million gravestone photographs, Keep that in mind when sending me a message or e mail. Its almost impossible to figure out who your talking about if you don't send me the full name, (and or maiden name) dates of birth and death, cemetery there in, and photo number on my photo if there is one.
"NOTE" Due to the mess "Ancestry" has made in combining cemeteries with like names, I'll no longer be filling requests in the Westfield Cemetery, Danielson, Connecticut. Questions or comments about duplicate entries you see in the Westfield Cemetery should be directed to Find A Grave or Ancestry, as they are the ones who combined Old Westfield and Westfield which are two different cemeteries. Thank You

Thanks for the use of the photo, I gave you credit for both (I used Bathsheba's and Georgianna's graves). Thanks again! http://dreamingcasuallypoetry.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-real-bathsheba-sherman-true-history.html
|Dreaming Casually||RE: Bathsheba Thayer (Sherman) 1812 - 1881|
yes, any info you can give me. I have all the Census records and property records of when she was married to Judson Sherman-- please email me so I can tell you the rest. (firstname.lastname@example.org)

I have been doing some research on the story of the home on Round Top Road in Rhode Island. I found your photo of Bathsheba and wanted to know if I could have permission to use it (should I choose to write a blog on it). I am a historian and I really want to get the facts of the history of the property, not really focus on the ghost stories of it, the actual people who lived there, which I am hearing Bathsheba was one of the people that lived on the grounds. If I could use your photo I would surely give you credit for the photo. Please do not hesitate to email me or message me on here. Thank you for your time.--

Thanks for your note. We visited the cemetery to confirm that those on the request list did not have a legible marker and then also went to the New London Historical Society and confirmed again in the Hale Collection for this cemetery. I did not claim to see any of those 28 requests listed except for Anna. for whom there was already a grave marker photo, and I didn't understand why there was a request? For the other 27, I sent a note and chose delete this request suggesting that they or the manager of the memorial put "Grave Not Marked" either in the Note box or the Inscription box, so that everyone will know there is no marker. If you feel this is a good idea, you could actually go to the Edit for each without a photo and put that comment in the Inscription Box and even if the manager is inactive, it would appear at the end of 2 weeks on the memorial. I have Palmer relatives in this cemetery and on our visit to New London, we were checking it out. We are traveling from our home in South Carolina, so won't be in the area again any time soon. Thank you for all your work, effort and time with this delightful cemetery.
Hello Brian! You took a photo for Franc Martin on Oct 11, 2009 # S5005713FSE and I have since put up a memorial for his first wife, who is also on the stone, Alice J. Martin in Windham Center Cemetery. I have put in a photo request, could you please fill it with the same photo? I'd very much appreciate it!

Wow!! You are very busy. Makes me feel I am not doing much. I am tracking my family. I appreciate the offer. I am finished for tonight but tomorrow I will see if there are others and if so place a request.
Thank you again. Without volunteers as you my family would still be lost.

It is adding the transcription of his gravestone and what the inscription means.

You have taken a photo of the marker of Rev Daniel Fuller in the Old Willington cemetery in Tolland Co, Conn. Could I have permission to copy this photo for my tree. Thank you for posting it.
