I am no longer actively adding names. I would like to transfer all the names I have listed to family members and even close friends. I am basically adding only documents and information to existing memorials.|
I will keep only my close family memorials.
Please do not use my bio page for changes, additions, linking or transfers. Please click on the Edit button at the top right of the person's page,. Then click on Suggest A Correction. On that page, type in what you would like done.
PLEASE.......when you find your relative's page, leave flowers and at least a short note. In that note, state your relationship to that person. This is a great way to find living members of your family. If you leave nothing, they do not know you are out there somewhere. Leaving this lets them know that you are also kin to them and they will contact you. This is a win, win situation.
The Story Tellers...We are the Chosen.
My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes.
Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do.
In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors you have a wonderful family - you would be proud of us?
How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.
It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen. The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family.
It goes to deep pride that they fought to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do. With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us.

|L Ferree||Nicholson / Nicolson|
Hi Judy, I hope you got my edit a couple months ago about the memorials for Nicholson that were dupes of the correctly spelled Nicolson family. Anyway, I've submitted them to edit to be merged, so that all the photos and information are not lost. However, I noticed that you posted the same portrait on Carolyn Crane Nicholson Memorial# 62025009 who died in 1979 (that will be merged with Memorial# 35268892), and on her mother Carolyn Crane Nicolson Memorial# 35268895 who died in 1949. Wondered which Carolyn was the correct one for the photo.

I figured you might would know from the bio on Sharon's. It's possible there are some others. While I was transcribing the cemetery some family members came in to visit a grave in the vicinity and I moved to a different location in the cemetery and didn't finish in this area. I plan on going back and finishing those few graves that were left. It's possible this is where I was interrupted. Will let you know.

There wasn't a page for her. There was a request for any information about her at the top of one of the Stowers pages if memory serves me. It appeared that you had all the information on the Stowers but didn't have it on the Sims since they were marrying into the line.
