I have been working on my family history and the Find A Grave website has been a great help. |
In addition to memorials for those in my family, I have added memorials for many non-relatives in the hope that the memorials will help others as they have helped me with my family history. My favorite cemeteries in El Paso are Concordia and Evergreen Alameda. I have learned about the history of El Paso and its people through my work on Find A Grave.
I am willing to transfer a memorial if you are related and I am not.
Please feel free to use the headstone photos for your genealogical records.
I greatly appreciate all the Find A Grave volunteers who have created memorials for my family members and filled my requests for a headstone photos! :)

Hello, I added the spouse. Are you related? I am not and will gladly transfer even if you are remotely related distantly. Just let me know. Sincerely, Lisa
I made the changes you requested to the Mcneill's memorials and linked the family members.
Thank you very much for the EDITS info. I didn't know it was there or how to use it. I clicked ACCEPT on Ruth Botten and it accepted and changed your new info for her memorial site. Thanks again.

I do have a few sectional plat maps, but they don't give a good location for individual graves. The cemetery has sold several times, re-platted with different boundaries and locations. Some graves for paupers were lost when the city took over part of the cemetery and are now under streets and/or businesses.
You still have to get someone in the office to pinpoint the grave (how many paces from a landmark, then the same in the other direction). My contact there is Susanna Corral,
phone 252-0312. She does help me, but I get the feeling that it is putting her out. If you call her, tell her that I sent you, it may help some. Sometimes one of the staff will take you to the gravesite.
I get so disgusted that my relatives have spent so much money for Internments at Restlawn.
If you read my bio, you can tell why I am upset.

Thank you for the information. I have seen several errors in the county cemetery book so I have deleted my memorial.

It's an honor. I try to place flowers/images on the memorials I visit as I research my family history as well as other memorials as a sign of respect.

WOW! Thank you so much! I had given up on getting a photo for Uncle Joe, especially after the cemetery office said they had no record of him there. I really really appreciate your time and dedication to help others.
