I have been an amatuer genealogist for more than 40 years. My research includes pre-American Revolutionary lines and early twentieth century Belgian and Mexican immigrants. Grandchildren's
lines add Native American (Creek and Cherokee), Pilgrim, Irish, and Swedish lines.

Genealogy allows me to combine my problem solving and research skills with my love of history and photography. It is not about collecting names and dates, but about finding out who these family members were, how they lived, and what events impacted their lives.

Memorial Images
My name is Douglas C. Johnson and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use your photographs of the graves of Maria Felipa "Mary" Vargus (nee Diaz) and Francisco Corralejio "Frank" Vargus at Saint Marys Cemetery in Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa on the FamilySearch Family Tree website. I would of course list it with full credit given to you for the use of the image.
Thank You,

I did add some notations to Peter's memorial, and send a request to the owner of Isaac's memorial for an update removing the parent relationship to Peter.

Peter Hesser 1810-1890
Hello there, after talking with Neal, I realized that I do not have access to make the changes for Isaac T. Hesser's relationship to Peter.

Neal did have great supporting evidence to confirm that it certainly appears Isaac T. Hesser was a brother and not a son. Although, I am not 100% confident that Peter didn't have a son named Isaac with his 2nd wife Mary. His obit did share that he was the father of 13 children. It's still possible there's a Isaac out there that is Peter's son.

I mean, anything is possible, right?

Thanks for reaching out to me.

Peter Hesser born 1810
The Isaac Thomas Hesser listed was not his son. It was his younger brother (14 of 14) who had moved in with him when their father died and their mother remarried.

Thanks you for adding that beautiful photo of Rachel's stone. When I was there the stone was in pretty bad shape. I Love the new one you added. Thank again

RE: Ophelia DeJean
Thank you for findings. Knew that Ophelia was a Crunkilton but had her spouse wrong. Thanks again for your helpful input in getting this right. Will have to change this on my website also. Love Find A Grave and the many wonderful connections.
