I'm a life long American history buff, especially the colonial and Revolutionary War periods. I've been working on family genealogy for about 25 years. I enjoy collecting native american artifacts, photography and traveling to historic sites and living history museums.
Researching the Hames, Francisco, Salzer and Volk families of Monroe County, NY; as well as the Foley and McGreal/McGrail families of western NY. Also the VanZile/VanSyle families of 1700's NJ.
adelaide f foley-jennings I am a 73 years young retired Private Detective and created the P.I. Museum to honor people like Adelaide F. Foley-Jennings (New York Lady P.I.). Adelaide F. Jennings Detective Agencies, Inc. operated 1922-1950'ish with offices in Rochester, Buffalo, New York, Miami and lastly Los Angeles. Her brother, Earl F. Foley (1899-1968), ran N.Y. firm Jennings-Foley Detective Agency for awhile and then formed his Fidelity Detective Agency. I'm working on a display to honor this first of her kind early 1900's female Private Detective. More info about P.I. Museum at: www.pimuseum.org.
Do you possibly have her date of birth and death? Perhaps her husband's, i.e. ? Jennings, full name? Finally, anything about her children or relatives?
Best Wishes, Ben Harroll P.I. Museum Founder/Curator 619.239.6991
Patterson family history I was glad to find this information on charles jesse patterson (my great grandfather)and that you listed him as a son to william and mary burdick patterson, however I can not find any information whatsoever on william and mary burdick. We do know both died young when charles jesse and his siblings were young children. his siblings names are sister delilah, brothers william (we think) Fred, and Gideon. the brothers and sister were separated to different homes after their parents death. any help would be so appreciated. sincerely Marieta Hopkins
Katherine L. McGreal Shaw McLaughlin Dear Mike, Just by chance have I come across your name and all of this unknown information about my mother's family! I am ecstatic! I live in Dallas, Texas and have planned to visit my mother's grave today in remembrance of her upcoming birthday on July 30, and discovered all of this research you have done! I am so grateful to you. Words cannot express. Perhaps I can fill in for you other family info. My hope is to visit Rochester, NY and Holy Sephulchre Cemetery in the future to identify more of the McGreal family.
