Bio Photo I used to be the assistant director of the family history center in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints here in Kerrville, TX for 10 years, but new members are working and my calling has moved me to other duties. I worked with others in the same field for over 25 years. I enjoy doing genealogy and have just found this site to be able to do a memorial page for my mother & father, my sister and other extended family members.

I am researching the military history of one of my ancestors and found Frank listed in a reunion pamphlet of the 635th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Thought someone would like to know. Page 19.

I see what you are looking for now. I am going to push, pull, drag my husband back down there next weekend to do St. Joseph's #1 and I will take some pics for you then.

I agree with you. No one does cemeteries quite like New Orleans! I am originally from L.A. (Lower Alabama). So, this is like a foreign land!

Since I now live in Hammond, La. (just north of Lake Ponchartrain - we had water completely over the roof of our house during Hurricane Katrina), I had been concentrating all my efforts on taking pics of cemeteries in Tangipahoa Parish alone. Then one day recently I was hunting ancestors for a friend and saw that St. Joseph's #1 had something like 102 requests !!! That is ridiculous!

Sadder still, is that a LOT of the headstones are either gone, fallen over, broken, or aged to a point where they cannot be read. So, we have urgency in our work.

Thanks again,
Cathy Faust

I saw your request for an updated pic of his headstone and you noted that you'd like pics of the area.

Could you explain about the extra pics? Do you mean of the surrounding area of the gravesite and cemetery - pics of the surrounding housing and area where the cemetery is ??

I was there today and took pics of all headstones in the St. Joseph #2 cemetery. I have located the one I took of your relative. I will be going back to take pics of St. Joseph #1 Cemetery at a later date and will take the other pics you want if I can understand what it is you are wanting.

The cemetery is in an area where I will not go into alone so I have to wait until my husband can go with me.

Hello, I noticed your comment regarding verification of your grandfather's burial at Greenoaks. I am the photographer who responded to your photo request. As I stated in the caption for the photo, your grandfather is indeed buried there; however, there is no grave marker. The cemetery office does have a record of the burial. I do not know whether a marker was ever ordered for the grave, as the marker is the responsibility of the family. If you know who arranged for the funeral and the burial, you might want to inquire about the marker. All the best, Evey

You are welcome. Glad I could help. I cannot take credit for the flowers. They were already there.

Thank you so much for posting the photos. These were for a friend who is just starting to research her family history. I very much appreciate the work you do on Find-a-
Grave. Please let me know if I can ever return the favor for you here in the Austin area. Thank you again.
