Bio and Links
Bio Photo Several years ago, my grandmothers kept articles, lots of stories to tell and pictures to show. I still have my very first scrapbook that my mam-maw helped me with. I treasure that to this day. My grandmothers gathered their information by hand for they didn't have a computer. After their passing, I gathered their information and went to work on carrying on their legacy. I researched family articles and photos and vital information. I have a family tree program of over 13,000 names including American Revolution Veterans, Civil War Veterans, WWI and WWII Veterans, Vietnam, Korean, etc. Captain Martin Van Buren Bates and Anna Swan Bates was "The World's Tallest Married Couple." He is my 3rd Great-GrandUncle. I have been Bates Reunion Coordinator in Seville, OH where the Bates home place and burial are. I am also a member of the Abner Baker Chapter #1404 United Daughters of the Confederacy in Knoxville, TN.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time,
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient roads
On which my father's trod,
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript,
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find,
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.
Crossroads
Thanks for your quick response. I'm trying to delete my "Haws Cemetery" photo from there. Yours is still there too. Thanks
HAWS and Crossroads Cem WAshington Co TN
We could solve this dilemma by removing the HAWS photos and creating a new Find A Grave cemetery listing for HAWS. I have photos for the actual Crossroads, which the Cochrans are in, and all the other graves there as well. As I say that cem is up behind the church and probably has 20+ graves, all recent. Haws is very old, 1850's.
Crossroads Bapt Church Washington Co TN
This little cemetery is HAWS Cemetery. It is listed under same and has 12 graves. There is a small wooden hand carved sign attached to the chain link fence to the left of the gate. Above and behind the Church is a cemetery. I photographed all the graves today, both HAWS and Crossroads. I will add my cem name photo to this cem so you can see it.
Gladys Huff
Hi Rhonda, Thanks for making the memorial for Gladys, I'm almost certain that she's buried at Temple Hill with Arnold, most of the Huff's are buried there, but we all know what happens when we assume ;) I have to go out today and don't have time for phone calls, if you don't find anything I will work on it tomorrow or Monday.
Thanks again for following through on this.
Dianna
P.S. I sent this as a reply to the email you sent me and it came back "failed delivery"
Maynard Bates,
I am so sorry about the blanks, they flew before I wrote my explanation. Could you please delete so as to not clog up your page?
The additional information was sent by that person so I notated it on the memorial. If you follow the links you will see that she has linked to Maynard Bates.
As for transfers I follow the Find A Grave rules.
Thank you for your interest. If there is anything I can add, Please let me know through the edit button.
