Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Teaneck and raised in Palisades Park, Bergen County, New Jersey. Currently, I live in beautiful Hunterdon County. This place is truly "a little slice of heaven", nestled between two major American cities - New York and Philly. We boast of one of the last clean rivers in the East - the Delaware.

For many years, I'm involved with genealogy and local history as a hobby. It's a rewarding journey and a great source of personal comfort in light of the loss of my loved ones. Before my interest, history was my least favorite academic subject... boring! Now, I have a renewed curiosity of what life was like for our ancestors. What was the political, cultural and social environment of their day? What daily struggles did they endure just to survive?

Our ancestors treaded lightly upon this earth, and may not have left much behind. They deserve to be remembered with honor. After all, they made us who we are today.

Please note: A simple "thank you" to a volunteer is always appropriate. It lets them know that their efforts to help you are appreciated.

Elizabeth Kirby Sneckner
Hi Beverly,

I have been doing some research for my mother-in-law about her mother's family. Her grandmother was Kate Eliza Cotte, who was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Sneckner Cotte, and the granddaughter of John and Catherine Gautier Sneckner.

Recently my husband and I restored a table, and then found out it was inherited by my MIL's mother from Florence Kirby. I think from your information that she was a cousin, but I can't figure out the exact relationship. Could you help? We also have a photograph of Florence Kirby on the porch of her home in Rye, NY. I understand that her father was the first homeopathic doctors in the state of NY.

Oh, and my brother-in-law has portraits of John and Catherine Snecker.

We are in Warren County, not too far from you. One day we hope to make a cemetery pilgramage to New York state.

Thanks for your help,

RE: 1906 Atlantic City Train Derailment

I would imagine that there would be death certificates for these persons in New Jersey. I am not familiar with how New Jersey operates with their death certificates.

I had come across this article on the train derailment while I was researching something else and decided to get as much information as I could to set up the memorials for these people.

Gone But Not Forgotten
picture you added to Memorial# 25349264
Hi, This is just an FYI. The picture you added to Memorial# 25349264. Looks as though someone else copied it and added to a different memorial. The cemetery is different and "Not correct" but the picture is the same.

George and Emma Dixon photos
Hello Beverly, and thank you so much for the photo of George and Emma Dixon's marker! I asked the cemetery office back in March for locations for their plot and my other photo request plots in that cemetery, but I have yet to receive them.
(They are all my Dad's cousins).
Thanks again,
Dan Phelan
