I reside in Dayton Oh, but grew up in a tiny Crawford Co Oh village of Sulphur Springs (SS), thus my interest in small nearby SS/Liberty Twp/Union Cemetery, resting place for the oldest and last Revolutionary Soldier Adam Link in 1864, age 102; Also, a vet of the Mexican and CW, and thirty eight other CW soldiers are interred there. Many local CW vets trained here at Annapolis, now named Sulphur Springs, and joined Co C 49th OVI formed at Tiffin. I am interested also in the other rural cemeteries near Sulphur Springs. Organizationally my interest includes CW Co H 123 OVI, and the SAW my grandfather's Co A 8th OVI. I have created several virtual cemeteries. If you can add to them, please contact me. I have compiled: Christian Striker in America 150yr: other surnames of interest: Ferguson, Durr, Wittel, Dinkel, Bessinger, Branstetter, Swarer. My wife's mostly Montgomery Co Oh surnames: Shank, Creager, Michael, Wolpers, Kreitzer, and Kemp.

I appreciate the gravestone photo that you posted for her at David's Cemetery (40834587). Would it be too much trouble to crop and remove the 2013 Christmas wreath ad? Thanks very much.

CW and SAW memorials
In a couple weeks they will be putting out new flags for Memorial Day. I will try to get over there and take lots of photos when they get that done. I would have gotten more yesterday but the ground was too wet to do much walking around. The one that I got for you was near the road so I didn't have to wade water

Ken, I am wondering if you are related to this Bard family as James is my great-great-great grandfather. I would be interested in getting his memorial transferred to me if you are not related.

Thank you,

Troy Myers

Hi Ken, Thanks for the CW update info on Alonzo. I've updated his memorial. I'm hoping this year that someone will be able to get a photo of his marker. Thanks again for the update. Ben

Frederick William Kirtland
Thanks for reminding me to add Civil War service to his memorial and I corrected his birth place. I wish you could find Civil War service for his brother, Alvin Case Kirtland. According to three families descended from him, he was from Ohio and fought with the Union Army and marched into Nashville when it was captured. He saw a pretty girl on the church steps and broke rank and ran over and introduced himself. They got married a few months later. They were my great-great grandparents. I have never found him on a list. All 3 families had the same story. R.J.
