Most of my family settled in Adams and Brown counties, Illinois, therefore my focus has started in these areas.|
I am interested in helping other people find their families by entering memorials and filling photo requests. While I'm searching I take extra pictures to place on FAG.
Please notify me if you would like something added, corrected or deleted on a memorial that I have entered. I will respond to those that follow the Find a Grave guidelines and use the EDIT link on the memorial page.
Thanks to all who have helped with information, photos, additions and corrections.

Hello, I apologize as I sent the wrong parents for Charles Halsey b 1933. His parents should be Charles b1897 and Gene b 1901. Charles & his wife Audrey both have 2 memorials so I will send a msg to the other one since yours were 1st.
I have sent a new edit for the correct parents today

can you delete your memorial #70640107 as it's a duplicate for # 67413668. I have sent edits to that memorial to link her parents and other husband.

|Buddy Leech||RE: S. Rockenfield, Maquon Cemetery|
I'm most happy to have the opportunity to add to Scott Rockenfield's story. Was talking to a friend yesterday evening (10-28-2016) who told the story of how he had found Cleaves Rockenfield's (Find A Grave Memorial# 24659976) discharge document in his deceased father's "stuff". Cleaves Memorial was pretty much bare bones, so I had to find him family and more on his Civil War service. That's how I discovered his older brother Scott and that they had served together in Co. I of the 77th Illinois. I hope to get a sharp image of that discharge document to post. BL

cj, it is no big deal. I am just so thankful we unearthed (Literally!) a headstone buried in Maquon Cemetery. As I am sure you are aware, Tom has several direct line ancestors buried in Maquon, and when we make a discovery, we want to pass the blessing along. We certainly appreciate all the work you have done, and we understand totally about Find a Grave and Ancestry.com not liking some of the edits we have made. Especially when it comes to GPS coordinates. Our camera has built in coordinates, and we have a Garmin GPS that we have used as well. Sometimes the Garmin gives different GPS coordinates than is revealed on the phone camera pictures, and then I don't know what to report.
Be patient with us. Ancestry offered a half price subscription for 6 months during September, and we have been going full bore entering info on family, finding more brothers and sisters, and sometimes we have to make a trip to the library and then the cemetery to see what we can find. That part about him being 2 years old when he died didn't coincide with the 1850 census, so we had to go out to the cemetery to see if we could unearth the stone. I got blessed. It was totally covered up by 6 inches of dirt and grass. Which helped preserve it...It showed he was 9 years old when he died.
If you need any help with anything, maybe we can get together to mash heads, compare notes, anything. You've got to be related to us! We have certainly caught the same bug. Back at you. Nancy
