Maplewood Cemetery-Rantoul completed 11/7/2010.Eden Park Cemetery, Rantoul, Il completed 11/20/2010. Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church Cemetery, Thomasboro, Il completed 3/2/2011. Beckman Cemetery-Flatville, completed 3/2/2011. Meharry Cemetery, Ford Co, Il updated/completed 4/3/11. Farmersville Cemetery, Ford Co., Il updated/completed 4/3/11. Holy Sepulchre Cemetery-Rantoul, completed 5/22/11. As of July 2011: Completed St. Lawrence Cemetery, Penfield, Il Nov. 2012. Willowbrook Cemetery-Fisher, Il, completed 5/15/13. Update all veteran burials at Drummer Township Cemetery, Ford Co., Il, completed October 2013.
I am working on adding obituaries to these cemetery memorials, as I find them at the Rantoul Historical Society: A work in progress, SEE MY VIRTUAL CEMETERIES FOR LIST OF NAMES OF VETERANS BURIED AT EACH CATALOGED CEMETERY. WE THANK THEM FOR THERE SERVICE:).

Jan. 2015: Huge project completed: All Civil War Soldiers buried in Champaign County, Illinois is now on find-a-grave. Documentation on each has been added where available. Check out my virtual cemeteries for more information.

I am trying to find death info about Ann Batey Adams who was married to Matthew Adams of McLean County. Findagrave has Matthew but not Ann

I photographed all of St Joseph's and only some of Davis. Just thinking if he was Catholic he would be on that side! Let me have my best resource verify this. He lives not to far from both of these cemeteries.

Seeing that you left a message on his memorial, I thought you may wish for his Obit from The Leader-Record, issue 22 March 1917. I sent this to the manager of his memorial also.

John Phillip Grossarth, was born in Germany, 14 Dec 1835, died in Oklahoma 15 March 1917. Came at age 5 with parents to America locating in Ohio where he grew to manhood. Civil War, enlisted, spent four years in service. Was in famous march to the Sea. After his return, married Sarah Wilson. Nine children born, 2 died in infancy; three sons and four daughters survive; J.C. and William of Rocky Ford, Colo.; Mrs Mary Barnes and Adam Grossarth with whom he was making his home at the time of his death, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Mrs Katie Steele and Mrs Elsie Steel of Browning MO, and Mrs Cora Shouse of Purdin MO. Services held at U.B. Church near his home. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Linn County, MO.
