|Bio and Links|
Hello, We have been active in our ancestral research for about fifteen years now. We got started just about a year before my father died. He was doing some research himself and had documented a makeshift tree. Even though his work was incomplete it gave us the initiative to take it and run with it. Several years later we have over 30,000 people in our tree and have visited several cemeteries in the area where we live. After a few thousand headstones photos taken we are now in the process of uploading them to Find A Grave as well as Ancestry. It has been arduous work but very rewarding to us. Unfortunately, the reason we are adding a bio now is because the efforts we have taken to make sure our relatives are remembered by information here and on Ancestry, is, our photos are being taken without our permission and then claimed by others as their own. We started noticing this about a year ago and started putting a small watermark on the photos. This has not stopped people from stealing our work. We would rather not put anything on the photos themselves because we believe it takes away form the aesthetics of the photo, however, it has become necessary. Now it seems as though even having the small watermark is not enough to deter those who would take what does not belong to them without asking or giving credit. So much for the small watermark. Now you will be finding photos we upload will have GLARING marks on them. Sorry about that.|
We are not averse to letting people copy these photos, we just ask that credit be given where credit is due. Just ASK. You might be surprised how willing we are to share. With the proper credit given. Unfortunately, the watermarks will remain.
Because we are not able to travel long distances, we ourselves have taken photos from others on this site "WITH PRIOR PERMISSION" and with due credit given. So, we understand the desire to have a copy of your own.
We have also begun to pursue actions against those who steal.

Thank you for asking about posting the photo of Jesse Roy Weidenhamer's memorial to Ancestry. I sincerely appreciate your intention to give credit to the original photographer.
In light of that, yes, you may post the photo to Ancestry, but I'd like to give credit to the original photographer--please watermark with the name Stanley Weidenhammer. He is Find-a-Grave contributor #46770578, and a colleague of mine. I have had his permission to post his photos on Find-a-Grave, and has also posted photos to Ancestry. He has worked tirelessly on the genealogy of the Weidenhammer/Weidenhamer family in America.
I, too, am a Weidenhamer descendant. My ancestor was Sarah Ann Weidenhamer, daughter of Jacob D. Weidenhamer, son of John Adam Weidenhammer, son of Johannes the immigrant.

You are more than welcome to use my photo. I do this so families can have them for their records - but thank you so much for asking for my approval. Valerie

Thanks for your message and edit request. I must apologize as I reported Orrel's death as May 7th which was the date of her obit. She died on May 6th. I have transcribed her obit on her memorial. I found that her daughter Bernice is buried in Shererville, IN. and requested the memorial owner to link her to her parents.

Sorry, I forgot the county of death for Orrel in my last post. She died in St, John, Lake County, Indiana.

Thank you for suggestions regarding this family. I accepted your suggestions except for birth and death of Orrel. You report date of birth as May 11, 1889 in Galesburg, Knox, Illinois. Could you provide a source for date of birth? Orrel's marriage record reports her place of birth as Yates City, Il. also in Knox County. Do you have a different source? You report her date and place of death as: May 3, 1963 in Porter County. Her obit in the Hammond Times reports her death as May 7, 1963 in St. John. I hate to be a pain, but you know everything on this memorial will be copied in many family trees.
