|I was born, raised and still live in the Chicago area. However my roots are in the Illinois counties of Marion and Jefferson from which my parents came. |
As a young child while visiting grandparents in Marion county we would visit the grave sites of relatives. I believe this is how my passion for family history, genealogy and cemeteries began.
I have been actively researching my roots since the 1970s. The computer, Find A Grave & Ancestry.Com along with other sites has greatly changed the research process. Most of my work has been in Marion and Jefferson Counties, Illinois. The surnames I am particularly interested in are: Easley, Gordon, Hall, Higganbotham, Hill, Keele, Myers, Simmons, Stanford, Spangler & Stonecipher.
If any errors are found or additions needed in any of my entries please contact me using the edit button. I will happily make any changes required and appreciate the suggestions as I want the information to be as accurate as possible.
I am always willing to share information, answer questions or help others in their search for information and family. You may contact me using my email address if your info or questions does not relate to a specific memorial.
If I have accidently duplicated another memorial, please let me know and I will delete mine if entered after the other memorial.
I will always transfer memorials within the Find A Grave guidelines and will transfer outside of the guidelines in some cases.

|BrideyLight||Leo Louis Boutin and Donald William Boutin photographs!|
Dear MLSchuett: I can't thank you enough for taking the photographs of Leo and Donald Boutin's grave markers! Their family had an adoption situation and the adoptee is in his70's (I think) and he lives in California. He will be thrilled with your absolutely beautiful photographs of his people! Kind regards, Bridey Light
I saw the wonderful photo you posted on Joseph Stonecipher's findagrave memorial. Thank you for taking the time to personalize this man. I am a volunteer with a small cemetery in Milwaukie Oregon. Through my work there, I added two of Joseph's daughters to his list of children. I am curious to know if you have any photo's of Joseph's children. If you have any pictures of Nancy or Millissa, I would be grateful if you could post them to their memorials at the Milwaukie Pioneer Cemetery, Milwaukie, Clackamas County, Oregon.
All my best,

Please don't delete your memorial, it provides much better information than what I had. I am not related, his name was on a transcript that I had on my Melton family. I just thought it was important to recognized all the names that appeared on it and the best way I felt was to post their info on Find A Grave.
*my earlier email wasn't delivered, I have already deleted mine.

Thank you for taking the time to look for her headstone. She is my son-in-law's mother. He was very young when she died & did not know where she had moved to, died, or interred. Again, thank you for looking.
|Rich||Dicey Brookman (Rash)|
Dicey's tombstone in the Union Chapel cemetery states her birth as 1876 and death as 1959. The information in Find a Grave states her birth as 11/2/1875 and death as 1959. Do we know which is correct.

I am not sure who to approach regarding this. Could there be a cross reference for this cemetery as Snowville Cemetery? Most of the obits state the interment in Snowville Cemetery. Thanks for your consideration.

Cora Michael is not in the Fields Cemetery in Marion Co., IL. She is in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Dix, Jefferson Co., IL. She married four times. Her last husband was Orville Calvin Prather. Cora was my grandmother's sister.
|Janet Bunting||Christina Graner|
Christina's maternal grandparents are Erwin and Lois Wiehle. Lois's maiden name was Pickett. They are also buried there.
