For a loved Pet
RAINBOW BRIDGE author unknown
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross overů together.

Don't think my next reply was sentů How wonderful you are documenting this family. Joseph R Barker is my third great grand-father through his daughter Eliza A, who married Stephen T Hazzard. I have been hoping to find this tightly knit family of Barker, Robinson, Hazzard, Lingo, Ennis, Boyce who all seemed to live in Indian River Hundred, Millsborough and later Laurel and Georgetown. Do you know where Joseph Barker came from? All I have found is that the family came to the area in the mid 18th century. Thanks for your help with the photos. I am excited that the information led to the confirmation of the family.
LOL! I hear ya! That brings back memories, many sleepless memories :)
A lot of places I shopped at had twin discounts on stuff. Osh-Kosh was one place. They were awesome before the were bought out by Carter's. BOO! But it doesn't hurt to ask!! I'm sure YOU are a HUGE blessing to mommy! I always felt like I was never able to spend enough quality time with EITHER of my twins. A few minutes here, a few minutes there...shew. I need a nap just thinking about it! :)

Hi Gennie, how wonderful! Joseph R (mar. Eliza Lingo) is my 3rd great-grandfather through his daughter Eliza, who married Stephen T Hazzard. I don't know where the Barkers came from. Do you have information on the origins of this particular family?
|Jane McDonnell||RE: Barkers|
Hi Gennie, Thank you for taking this picture! On Joseph's page when I click on Eliza's picture (double stone) the caption is "Alongside Eliza", . When I click on Joseph's (small stone) it doesn't resize. Oh, wait, let me go look up Eliza's page. Yup, I see a caption on her stone on that page. Oh good! So, this was perhaps erected by Thomas R Barker who I believe was her son. Joseph's inscription must only have his date of death and age then, so it probably doesn't have a caption? I can see there couldn't be much more than what's recorded on his page. Maybe an "In Memorium" or something at the top. In any case, this little detail of "mother" may have solved a mystery of two Eliza Barkers I couldn't sort out.
Boys?!! Wow! She's in for so much fun! I used to get mad when people would call my twins "Double Trouble" :( I think they are a double blessing :)
(Well..most days haha)
Snow already?! Jeez!
I'll send you an email when I can get onto my other system. Glad to be home & on the road to recovery. Quite an ordeal for me. UGH! TTYL

I have transferred the memorial to you. You should have it since you have a connection and I do not. Take care,
