RE: Name oParrottsville abandoned cemetery
Hi! Thanks for the info. That is possible. It is abandoned and often over years the cemeteries were called different names.

Thank you,

Victoria

PIERCE CEMETERY In District 7, Dyer County, Tennessee
I recently received an e-mail from Betty Stephens who does a magnificent job in identifying burials in Dyer County cemeteries on www.tn-roots.com/tndyer.
I had sent her what I've discovered about this cemetery. Unfortunately she tells me she believes the cemetery did once exist but it has been lost.
I still believe there is information in the Find A Grave archives sent to Jim Tipton when he founded Find A Grave by the Utah State Historical Society.
I believe it is more likely that those in the family of Jeremiah "Jerry" Pierce are buried in this lost/deserted cemetery. Jeremiah "Jerry" Pierce accompanied George Davis, Willis Chamberlain, and my 3rd great grandfather, William Martin, on flatboats on the Cumberland, Ohio, Mississippi, and Forked Deer rivers to make the second settlement in Dyer County four and three-fourths miles east of Dyersburg.

RE: Albert Pierce b. 1812
I do not have a copy of the will and would love to see it. My e-mail address is radamsok@gmail.com. Here's my ancestry:

Rebecca Carter Adams - Delbert Carter - Ola Mae Williams Carter - Ola Ama Pierce Williams - Jefferson Pendergrass Pierce - and you know it beyond this point, I believe.

Thank you.

RE: John Pierce and his son, Albert Pierce
Some of my information comes from "Stories in Stone: Jefferson County Cemeteries, Volume I, page 186. I will have to dig through files to find other sources of information. Several years ago, my mother and I traveled to Tennessee researching and searching through cemeteries. Much of our documentation is in her possession. Is there something specific you are seeking?
