Thanks to all my Find-A-Grave Friends for visiting my parents, grandparents and my lil grandchild. They are surely missed and were loved greatly. My homegoing to meet these wonderful people will make for a HUGE celebration!

Married to Craig Hannah, mother of Miranda Hannah, stepmother of Alisha, Daniel (Bubba), Mark and David Hannah. Bubba, Mark and David were U. S. Marines and all proudly served this great nation of ours. On January 24, 2014, Alisha made me a grandmother with the arrival of Gabriel (G. J.) Perez, Jr. What a joyous occasion! In January 2015, Craig and I traveled to El Paso for G. J.'s first birthday. He's getting so big and absolutely the handsomest little boy around. I'm so glad God saw fit to let me stay on this Earth a little while longer to enjoy my grandson. In November 2015, we got back from a week and a half motorcycle visit to see G. J. and all the Texas young'uns! Yes, I said motorcycle visit to Austin, Texas! I had my doubts as to whether I could do it in two days coming back, but I did! Spending time with G. J. and the kids was wonderful early Thanksgiving and Christmas present rolled into one! Alisha and Gabriel are expecting again. Alisha is doing well and the due date for this sweet lil sister of G. J.'s is September 26th. Can't wait to welcome her to the family!

Colorectal Cancer Survivor here! In January 2011 my family's world was turned upside down by the news that I had colorectal cancer. My father died from colon cancer in 1992. He had been diagnosed at 58 so my sisters and I were aware that we would need to start colonoscopies at the age of 48. Ten years from your direct line ancestor is the norm. (My daughter will need to start colonoscopies at 35.) I was 45 when I was diagnosed due to symptoms that I noticed. I had the operation to remove the rectal cancer plus a little over a foot of my colon on March 1st and I started chemotherapy on April 13th. My chemotherapy ended on October 7, 2011 after only two small setbacks. Even though my father had chemo with his cancer, you don't realize Exactly what a person goes through Daily with all the changes to your body that chemo does. God Bless my Daddy! The further along in your chemo regime, the more the chemo attacks other body functions and muscles. As my husband put it, chemo really is just fumigating for any cancer bugs that may be roaming around in your body. At least in my case that was what was happening. Fortunately, I am blessed with an outstanding husband, children and family (my sister, Beth was there every day encouraging me and worrying about me) that were with me helping me complete my chemo journey. Now, over 5 years later, I still deal with day to day issues; however, I am here and I'm getting on with life despite my 2011 journey. In 2015, I'm finally at a point that I feel pretty good which is a blessing in itself. My last scan was May 13, 2016 and they are now going to let me go a year before another scan. Small steps, but good steps in the correct direction! Please, please, get those colonoscopies when they are due at 50. They really aren't as bad as they used to be and you don't want to have to deal with the alternative....take it from someone who has been there!

God Bless Each And Every One Of You! ~Laurie~

Davis Cousin's....
I saw a lot of the Davis family at Aunt Shelby's funeral. I reconnected with many of my Davis cousin's whom are also your cousin's. We have all decided to get together down the country and share information, picture's.....go to the Davis Cemetery....which is all our family.....go to the other family cemeteries..... Kind of a small Davis Cousin's family reunion and attempt to reconnect and correct the family tree which so many have no information or incorrect information about. Cousin Lucy is older than my mother....and my mother is 75. Sharp as a tack....and we have access to a lot of very detailed family bibles and old obits etc. If you are interested.....lemme know. I talked with Carl Davis tonight. He called me. He wants to put together a Davis family reunion.... The kind my family used to have..... with hundreds of people coming from other states....the mountains...etc. Marie

I need help
Hey cousin.... I saw you have connections to a man that our family elders said was my aunt/your cousin who passed on the 10th of this month biological father. She and I tried to find out more about him before she died. There is a very interesting story surrounding this...and there is a marriage license that was filed for with Mr. Hampton "Hamp" Young and my grandmother at the Orangeburg courthouse. My aunt was born 3 months before his first son with his wife..... His memorial number is 49156673

If you know anything about this man or any of his family, I sure would like to know. Thanks, Marie

Miranda's husband's obit
Are you on Ancestry? I found this obit there for Miranda's husband:"After a short illness, A. G. Batton 66 years old, a former resident of Biloxi, and a member of one of the oldest of Mississippi families, also father of J. C. Batton, the well known councilman of this city, died some time last night about twelve miles north of Gulfport, and about five miles from Nugent, on the Gulf and Ship Island railroad, where he was engaged in chicken-raising and farming. It appears that Mr. Barton became ill sometime yesterday afternoon, and the news of his death was not received here until this morning. Mr. Batton was born at Rockport, Copiah county, where he lived until 1894, when he came to Biloxi. He was well known here and had many friends in this city and also at other places. He had gone to the farm of which his son, R. E. Batton, owns a part, about a year ago. The deceased leaves a wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Eaton and Miss Emma Batton, and three sons, J. C. Batton of Biloxi, R. E. Batton of Gulfport and Joseph Batton of New Orleans. He was a member in good standing of the local lodge of the Woodmen of the World, member of which will participate in the burial services. The body will be brought to this city, and the funeral will take from the Batton residence, on Lameuse street, tomorrow afternoon, interment to be made in the Biloxi cemetery".

Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 3, page 5: Mr. Batton was 65 years old when he died from peritonitis. He was a farmer.

RE: Miranda #141254524
hey, According to Ancestry.com she is my 3rd cousin once removed. I don't know any descendants, but if I discover any, I will let you know. Most ancestry researchers have the date of her birth as Oct 7, 1948, but I am not sure where they got that info.
