Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and still live and work in the northeast Mississippi area. I have ancestors buried in numerous cemeteries in this area and I am still searching cemeteries for some that I have not yet located. My goal is to complete the listings in as many cemeteries on Find a Grave where I have relatives as I can. Doing this requires me to add a lot of graves of people that I am not related to. If I have added your ancestors or relatives, I will be happy to transfer them to you as long as they are not in my own lineage. I enjoy doing geneology research and helping with this website as time permits, but I don't have as much free time to do this as I would like.

Turnage Mattox
Thank you for the link to his father . Through edit I have requested a link to his mother Rebecca McMaster Mattox . Turnage was a brother of Maury , Sam Estes's wife . Rebecca was the daughter of W. P. McMaster and Margaret Whitesides McMaster . Rebecca's parents were James Whitesides and Sarah Whitesides who raised Rebecca and her brother Thomas and Robert after their daughter Margaret died . I have found no death information about W.P. McMaster but I assume he died before Margaret did . I have seen W.P. and Margaret's family last name written both as McMasters and McMaster . On Maury's Alabama death index record it names her mother's maiden name as Rebecca White . I think over the years information was incomplete to the family who gave death information . Probably the White name was all that was remembered of Whitesides the grandparents who raised Rebecca , but her actual parents were the Whitesides' daughter Margaret and W.P. McMaster or McMasters . Interestingly enough Rebecca's brother Thomas raised as an orphan Joe Thomas Allen who married Rebecca's daughter Effie Ophelia Mattox . Joe Thomas Allen in the 1880 census was listed with his real parents as Joseph . Joseph's parents were Anderson and Catherine Allen and his siblings were Mary , Anna , and my great grandfather Charlie Frank Allen .

Thank You!
I visited Oak Grove Cemetery in Mantachie today to fill some photo requests. So many of the tombstones you took photos of are now damaged from the tornado. Thank you for your work preserving what would have been lost.
