I live in Mobile, AL, but my roots are in Monroe county, AL and Taylor & Sumter counties in GA. As my email address suggests, I like to survey creepy old Southern cemeteries; the more live oaks & Spanish moss, the better.|
I am currently photographing Magnolia Cemetery, and should be finished soon, weather permiting. I've also done a lot of work in Pine Crest and Catholic Cemetery.
I will gladly transfer any memorial to a relative or serious researcher except for a few dozen members of my family. A lengthy family tree explaining your relation is unnecessary, just promise to take good care of it. Findagrave should not be a hobby-of-the-week.
Do not hesitate to contact me with corrections or supplemental data, such as middle & maiden names, marriage and parental links, places of birth and death, etc. Obituary transcriptions are especially appreciated.
I have a grave marker picture for every memorial I create, with a handful of exceptions. If I haven't posted the picture yet, please use the edit tab to request it. It takes a while to edit the pictures.

|Howard (Kip) Carter||Alfred Boyd Connell, M.D.|
Before I start my question, I am impressed with the messages you have received. I scan-read each from the beginning some five years ago. 'nuf said!
Now for the question, your memorial #87350802 for Alfred Boyd Connell, M.D., intrigues me. He could be the father of an uncle on my mother's side. Most of the data fits into my research; however I would appreciate if you could share any data you may have on him. Also, if you have any contacts who may know more, please share my quest with them. My email is email@example.com.
I presently see two possible conflicts: (1) in the 1850 U.S. Census for the City of Mobile (taken on 10 October 1960), a Alfred B Connell, age 33, Physician born in South Carolina, living with S. Connell, age 70 Farmer, also SC, with four other Connell females. (2) 1850 Alabama Census, Monroe County, Dr. A. B. Connell is listed two lines below Stephen P Connell. The numbers associated with each are interesting.
I appreciate any ideas, suggestions, etc. that you or others may offer. Thanks!

I thank you for posting the tombstone pic of John lowrie in Magnolia Cemetery. I would truly appreciate any information you may have come across about him. He seems to be the ghost in our family tree and his wife also - named sarah but no last name.
Thank you for whatever information you may be able to provide.
Sincerely, jackie Lowrie
Tim I am Hoyt King and I am working on a tree for a dear friend and paternal granddaughter. However I am interested in your last name. My maternal grandmother's mother was a Childress of Eastern Tennessee. Any possible connection. Best regards,Hoyt

Thank you so much for all of the Pittroff family memorials from both Pinecrest Cemetery and Magnolia Cemetery that you have posted. Wonderful pictures! I noticed that you have connected many of these Pittroff family together. Are you by chance related to the Pittroff family? If so, I would love to correspond and share information with you. We are related through Conrad Pittroff (#112188836) and Margaret Tosh (112186424). Margaret is the sister of my husband's direct ancestor, Peter Tosh. I have additional information on the Pittroffs (obits, etc.) and also the Tosh line. One correction to make -- I believe that Ida Pittroff (#119174368) is most likely the daughter of Conrad Pittroff & Margaret Tosh and not of Philllip Conrad Pittroff and Mary Ann Ryder. Ida was originally buried at Springhill Parish Cemetery and then her body was moved approximately 10 years later (in 1897) to Magnolia Cemetery. There is a note on her death record of this fact. She was 11 years old at her death around 1887. So her birthdate would have been somewhere around 1875. (Phillip Conrad Pittroff was not married until 1885, so he could not be her father.) Magaret Tosh Pittroff (who I believe is Ida's mother) was also orginally buried at Springhill Parish Cemetery and then moved at the same time as Ida Pittroff (in 1897) to Magnolia Cemetery. There is a also a gap in the family births in this family about the time Ida would have been born. So, by circumstantial evidence, I think she is the daughter of Conrad Pittroff and Margaret Tosh.

|Kenneth Ford III||L Galle, Sr.|
Hi I was looking at the Galle family buried at Magnolia wondering if the "L Galle, Sr." memorial is that of my 4th great grandfather. I noticed that in the same lot, his son is buried there (Louis Galle, Jr.) that died in 1927.
This was confirmation for me that "L. Galle, Sr." is Louis Galle, father of Cecelia Macon, my 3rd great grandmother.
Thank you for photographing this!
