RE: Wirmingham Cemetery
oh, no. I hadn't heard about Larry Moore. That is sad. I didn't know him personally, but had heard good things. I did a session on grave dowsing at the Genealogy Bonanza in Livingston on Friday. Then we went out and dowsed Capps/Goodpasture cemetery which only has 9 or so heastones but around 15 to 20 more unmarked burials. When the dowsing was finished, the lady who has the original plot map from decades ago pulled it out and we compared. The burials found through dowsing were very closely lined with the ones on the map!

RE: Royle graves
Noelle,

That was SO sweet of you to go back today. I would have waiting until your next trip there. That is so bizarre that it says "Lancashire, Indiana". They were from Lancashire, certainly...but Lancashire ENGLAND, and I'm sure that's what was meant to be on the stone. Something got lost in the translation somewhere :-) along with the correct spelling of Frances's name. It makes me think that the stone was put them sometime after they had moved to Texas (where Isaac P. drowned at age 3) - that would have been 1875 or thereabouts.

I do think that Joseph E and Albert are buried there as they both died while the family lived in Crab Orchard, but whether or not Isaac P is actually buried there...that I don't know at all. I like to think that they are all there together, but that may be wishful thinking on my part. Written history says that Isaac P drowned on their Texas ranch, but when I brought that up to the family, another story came out that Isaac drowned in Texas while they were on their way to their land and had to wait out an Indian uprising while on the Chisholm trail. Whether they would have buried him in Texas or had means to send his body back to Tennessee...guess I'll never know.

Thank you again so much for your efforts and persistence on my behalf. You'll never know how much I appreciate all of this.

And yes, I'd love to have any other photos you'd care to share. My email is sem8272@gmail.com.

Thank you again, Noelle.

Royle graves
Dear N,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, from the very bottom of my heart for the nice photo of the marker for the graves of Percy, Ernest, and Bertie Goodier Royle. In my wildest dreams, I honestly never expected that the stone would still be standing and also readable...and that someone would so kindly go and take a photo of it. I'm so happy that their memorial stone is still there, and in a cemetery that looks so well cared for.

Were you able to read what is on the very bottom of the stone? It looks like an inscription but I can't read it. Also, does the stone say "Infants of" instead of "Infant son of"? It also looks like Frances is spelled with an I instead of an E, but that would be a spelling error.

THANK YOU AGAIN so very much. I am truly indebted to you, and you have made me so very happy.

RE: Violet Wireman
Her first husband was James Johnson. from what I was told they divorced and she remarried someone named Wireman. the 1920 census for Morgan county Tenn has her living with her father and stepmother. the 1930 census for Overton county, Tenn has her married to James Johnson. also there are other trees that are listed on Ancestry.com that has her listed and Barnes for her maiden name.

Hollis Templeton
Thanks so much for the additions to Hollis' memorial. Looking at the memorial, I noticed there were two photos of plaques that were mostly illegible. Looking at the photo startled me into a need to read those plaques in connection with a very close family tree of mine. I am no longer able to go check on things such as this anymore. Could you get the information for me? One other question: Did you or did you not tell me a couple of years ago that you would be willing to assume management of the memorials at Stringtown? I am now at the age (78) that I need to be relinquishing some of my responsibilities. Let me know. Ralph Franks
