I am a local historian in Rapid City SD, I specialize in finding where people are buried, I have many readings of cemeteries in Western South Dakota I hope post them on this site. |
I have a vast number of cemetery readings and obituaries that I am putting on site, I also am a volunteer to look up obits for people, please contact me if you need help in the Rapid City area.
I don't go too far to do pictures, I don't go to Fall River County to do pictures too far away, some places in Pennington are too far away.
I consider my self a scribe of the cemeteries, they are waiting for family , friends or who ever knows about the person and can do a bio to take edit control of them from me.
Don't put obits up where pictures should be, ask me to transfer so you can do the memorial the right way, only so many pictures can go up and using an obit that way is wrong!
Please, please just send your number on edit to ask for transfer that is the only way I want to do it, it so much easier that way.

Basically everything you sent me in the email is in conflict with what FIND A Grave is asking contributors to put on a memorial.
I posted what I found appropriate and cited the sources.
|Donald Whipple Fox / Hushasha||RE: Harlan W|hipple|
My point is that there are duplicate entries for Harlan J Whipple. You have him listed at the cemetery at Our Most Merciful Episcopal Mission in Santee, Nebraska. I have set up one for him in the Santee Catholic Cemetery where he is actually buried. I don't know how to fix this, but was bringing it to your attention.

Hi Ellen: I'm Harlan Whipple's nephew and I also made an entry for him under the Santee Catholic Cemetery up the hill from OMMS. That's where his parents, grandparents and siblings are all buried. There is continued confusion about the cemetery on the hill as it is called Santee Catholic Cemetery, but Episcopalians from Our Most Merciful Savior are also buried up there.
|Danna ||Charles "Charlie" Aiken Find A Grave Memorial# 62927763|
Charles Aiken is my grandmother's grandfather. My 96 year old grandmother is still living and has an incredibly clear mind and very good memory (she can look at her 3rd grade class picture and not only still tell you who all the children are in the photos but can tell you who their other family members are who aren't even in the photo).
Here is what grandma has to say about Charlie:
He was a poker player who dressed very fancy and used to go out to Deadwood South Dakota to play poker. One day he left and never returned. His wife said that she thought he was killed playing poker in Deadwood and was buried at Boot Hill which is now Mount Moriah Cemetery. He left home when his two daughters were very young. (His two daughters were born in 1879 and 1880 so he was still living at that time. He also appears on the 1880 US census for Canton, Lincoln, Dakota Territory with his family as Charlie H Aiken). Over the years grandma and her family tried to locate Charlie and several old timers in the area, while grandma was still a young girl (the early 1900's) recanted the same story that he was killed in a poker game in deadwood and buried on boot hill.
I am interested in the person who you found named John though and why you thought they might be the same person. I am open to any input on the subject.
Thank you for your help,

|DL Bronson||RE: You need to send|
In the beginning I just add the edits the easy way (approve or decline thru the edit tab that end up on the home page) for the original person creating the memorial. Then I sometimes decide I just have enough info that maybe the deceased decendents may want more info. That's how you might get my asking if you want to do a temporay transfer. If it is too much bother, that is OK. I also let everyone know it is not my family. I just get to thinking of the decendants and get willing to add more info that I have at my finger tips. I always add the source (if I have it) so the decendants can always go get more through the newspaper. My intent is not to stress anybody out. Sorry, if it caused a problem. I have a lot more obits to go through and I won't be able to remember who doesn't want more info. So just ignore or decline any info I send your way. My break is over and I need to get back to Find A Grave. Have a great day and thanks for all the dedication and hard work you do in creating memorials for others benefit.

sorry, guess I get so involved in the information about others I forget somebody just may need my info. LOL

Hi Ellen, My dates of birth (Feb 14, 1944) and date of death (June 14, 2014) are the same as what his obituary states. Also my memorial number is lower. Any changes please the edit way.
Thanking you in return, Richard.
for the transfer !
I appreciate it & you !!!
|Jackie Webb||New Haven Cemetery|
I am not sure how we can change this but New Haven Cemetery in Crook Co.Wyoming is in New Haven not Hulett. It isn't anywhere near Hulett.
