A Nebraska native. |
I most frequent Graceland Cemetery in Blencoe, Monona County, Iowa and Ashland Cemetery, Saunders County, Nebraska....so if you need a photo or info on someone from one of those cemeteries leave me a message when you post the photo request and I will do my best to help you out. I can also travel to many other nearby cemeteries but I try to coordinate when I go so I can make the most out of the time/miles/trip. Willing to help others who are willing to pay it forward and help in return. I have access to great resources here, as our public library has a FANTASTIC Genealogy Department. I will do what I can to help, time willing.
What I LOVE: Family, Pets (an avid lover of cats, birds, bunnies and chinchillas. I am allergic to most dogs, but I do like dogs too), GENEALOGY is something I have LOVED since I was young and I was fortunate as my mother had a memory like a steel trap and remembered so many things about family history and we discussed it often and in detail, same thing with my paternal grandfather, a memory like a steel trap. Mom and I worked together for many years, off and on doing research the "old fashioned" way and later doing research online. I miss her help, her knowledge and her passion for family history. I now carry the torch and am the Family History/Genealogy Guru now...good thing I, too, have a great memory...it comes in handy!
I LOVE Research...yes, I do, sounds crazy but I love dusty, old books and going through documents and piecing things together like a big mystery and a puzzle all in one. I have loved learning since I was a child and YES, I did read two whole sets of Encyclopedias as a child...one volume at a time, in order. A quest for knowledge, family knowledge fuels my desire to always know and learn more. If I could, I would spend about 12 hours a day doing it...traveling around to cemeteries (which I love), libraries, genealogy centers, etc. Totally cool!
Oh and I love Art, Art History, Fashion and Fashion History, Architecture and Interior Design. I am super crafty and love scrapbooking and turning junk into treasure...flea markets and photography.
I am an Artist, Designer, Photographer and Paralegal.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I talked to my MIL about the David and Rebecca Wagner information and she is really anxious to find out about them. Would you be willing to share information? I have a few pictures of what Wagner photos that she had and would be willing to share those as well.
Please email me at email@example.com and I will send you the photos.
She was wondering how close a relation you might be to her. She did not know of a Willie Wagner.

Yes I am on Facebook. I will have to get information on Margie Etta Wagner and Dell Gilbert if your interested. I am really more interested in David and Rebecca. Do you have any photos or documentation on them that you would share? Most of what I know about the Wagner-Gilbert's are on my Ancestry.com account.
Id be happy to send you a link to my file, if you would share the same. I don't do Facebook that often and am more comfortable sharing my genealogy via email or on ancestry.
My mother in law was curious who you are and if she knows you? If you would email me privately, I told her that I would share her contact information as well. She lived in Ashland, Prairie Home area her whole life until they married and had kids, (my husband Paul) and moved away from the farm in Prairie Home and now live in Lincoln.

David and Mary would be my 4th Great Grandparents. I am a decendant of their son Andrew, his daughter Rose Hart, her daughter Irene Gueck, my Grandfather Dale Gueck, and my Mom Janet Wengert. My mom has been doing a lot of research on this part of the family and would great appriciate it if you would be willing to share a copy of that cemetary record. She has been out to several of the cemeteries in Nebraska looking for them, and hasn't had any luck. If you would like to get a hold of her directly, I can give you her email address. Thanks again Tami

Your story makes this image even more special, and heartbreaking to read. I know now why the image is one that you will always treasure. Helen

Happy Easter, my Mother in law's name is Mardella Pike Reed, She is the daughter of David Pike and Audra Adeline Gilbert, and granddaughter of William Delmont Gilbert and Margie Etta Wagner. Her great Maternal Grandparents would have been David Wagner and Rebecca Barger. I have been searching for years for information about them and most gratefull for anything your willing to share. Her parents and Grandparent were part of a flood in the early Ashland area I think in the 1920s and they lost most of their family information so I amd trying to help her replicate what she had.
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks. Robin Reed

Have you taken the ancestry DNA? I'm hoping sometime in the near future we can go further back in the Mercer line with DNA hints. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you!

Wow! I had completely forgotten about sending you that message so went back to look at the image again. It really is well done and I don't know that the various contributors for this website get recognized for going the extra mile to capture an awesome image like that. I have had some really great images posted from my requests of headstones and one can tell that they take a lot of pride in making sure the image is centered, good lighting, etc. Your image could definitely be on the cover of a book featuring rural cemeteries, you should consider submitting it to a contest one day. Have a great day, Helen

Rebecca Wagner was my mother in laws great grandmother. I would love to know anything you can share about the Wagner-Gilbert family. Do you have any pictures of Rebecca or David Wagner?
|Kenneth Bunn||Margaret Coleman Burger|
I noticed that on the memorial for Margaret you said it's not known where she was buried. This is an email I received from Anna Chisholm Dickinson, in 1909.
"Ken. I will scan everything in this week and send them to you. I didn't have the enlistment papers, but have all the applications for pension, including those of Margaret after William died.
According to Margaret's death certificate, she is also in Climbing Hill. There isn't much on the certificate. The informant was William Bloomer and she is not even named. Just Mrs. William Burger age 76 born in Canada."
I hope you will send me a bona fide email or contact me on Facebook. I have so much to ask and tell you. I have no email address for you...but if you send me a hello, I will.
I wold also like to have a phone call some time. I talk way faster than I type.
Please write.....even if just to send me an email address. I don't suspect I will just find you hanging around at CyberPark.
