Bio and Links
Bio Photo A little ring encompasses our lives and many generations link the rings of theirs, thus forming a chain that is without end. -Goethe
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Genealogy is a passion I've had for 37 years. I've loved every moment. I've transcribed Mound in Pike Co. OH. for many years. I also transcribe Gardner in Pike Co., Harmon in Scioto, Blanton Branch in Johnson Co., KY, as well as other cemeteries in Clark, Green, Highland, Pike, Ross, Scioto & Johnson Co.. KY. I've taken pictures of headstone's, gone back a few years later & couldn't make them out. The elements are hard on the old one's. Feel free to use my gravestone pictures, & if you want a credit would be appreciated.
I'm also very glad to transfer. I have a strong belief family should manage family, be it a recent death or four generations past but I won't transfer my BLANTON Memorial's. I've researched the Blanton's for 37 years this Sept. I've labored hard & long, visited many states, counties, court houses & cemeteries. You might as well say I've researched them half my life. I'll be glad to add info to their memorial's for you but I won't transfer them.
Please don't post obituaries/bio's to flower/note section or correct me there. Send an Edit & I will make the changes giving you credit..
I also follow FAG policy by omitting the living from obituaries & not posting obituary pictures. I'm slowly removing the living & pictures from obituaries I previously posted unless permission has been granted. They area not my pictures to post.
Prayer for Genealogists
Lord, help me dig into the past
And sift the sands of time
That I might find the roots that made
This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient road
On which my fathers trod
And led them through so many lands
To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book
Or dusty manuscript
That's safely hidden now away
In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts
My soul when I can't find
The missing link between some name
That ends the same as mine.
Glad you found this headstone photo. Have you contacted the person who is currently maintaining this memorial--sounds like the 2 of you are are both searching to solve the puzzle of his parentage. Good Luck!
Blanton
Timeless, would you have a "Alice Blanton" that married Lafayette Curtis? She had two children with him and another child in 1870 and then the trail goes cold. Can not find her death certificate or any other info. Also there are 2 Andrew Jackson Blanton's on Find A Grave. My A.J. Blanton died in 1932, his three children were Calvin Fee, Robert Helton and Octabelle. Have you done any research concerning this Blanton family? Thanks so much! Sandygirl # 48207898
Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the pictures! They're in great shape. I really appreciate it and I hope one day to be able to visit in person. Did you happen to catch what was on Thomas's headstone above his name? He's a mystery so I'm curious if it's anything important. Thanks again soooo much!!
I recently spoke with the woman who is in charge of the burial records and that's the info she gave me. Of course there's always the chance that they are in disrepair or aren't there anymore. I've had that happen quite a bit when I search out headstones for people. I'm excited and hopeful to see what you find! :)
