When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.
I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.
We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.
Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

Please keep your memorial for Callie as it has photos and I will remove mine. Thanks, Pat

I don't know why some of the memorials are not showing up in cemeteries that I put them in. If you look closer a sister, Laura is now a duplicate as well. URGHH... I will just read them to the cemetery and if you would be so kind to delete yours I would appreciate it. Pat

I really appreciate your grave marker photo for Francis C Plott - wife of Amos Plott in the Dellwood Cemetery in Haywood County, North Carolina. Her findagrave memorial# 159159857 records her death date as 1816. I am wondering if the "1" in "1816" is really a "4" as in "1846"? It's difficult to see details of older stones in photos as time/weather can erode the finer lines.
I don't know, of course, if you go over to that cemetery from time to time but if you do get there some time in the future - would you consider examining her grave marker closer to see if there are more lines/marks around the second "1" in "1816" to see if it could be a "4"?
Thank you for helping record these markers so many can discover their family. Best regards, Nancy
Thank you so much for all the connections that I have submitted to you lately. I know there will be more to come as I am working on the Cabe family for a friend. Thanks again and have a great week.

I noticed you sent an update regarding information about Ellis Jerome Howell back in 2006.
Today I purchased a tintype photo at an antique shop in Nashville, TN. I notice it is a photo of Ellis Jerome Howell.
If you know of any family members of Ellis who might be interested in having the tintype I would be glad to offer it to them at no cost.

Thank you Ms Kretchmer. I actually found this by accident and did not realize my parent had a stone made in advance of their death. They chose to be cremated. However did drive up from Greenville today to visit it and plan to have the marker completed. I took my fathers ashes not far from there to his original home place to spread. Thank you again. Kindest regards, Anna Jones Wilson-Mappus

The grave stones at Finchers Chapel have birth dates not their deaths for my parents my Thomas Gilbert Jones and Margaret Cockerel Jones. My father, has past away on Nov. 18, 2012, and I will adding his death to the grave stone, but my mother is still alive. Thank you for your help.
